Hi Johan

Well, I dont have the TDK-card. so I dont really know much about this card.

Mine is the Anycom. The manual told exactly what to do, when installing the card drivers/software,..and it was perfect and quite easy.

After the card drivers and software was installed,..I first paired from the laptop, searching for the phone,..it was found immediatly. Then I paired it the other way around,..meaning that, I let the phone search for other bluetooth devices. It was successfull too Typed in the "passkey" (could be 0000, doesnt matter) on the phone, and after that a screen popped up on the laptop, and I typed the passkey there too

I know one person, that uses the TDK-card, and it works fine for him.

No, I havent been to nextlink yet. Should be in this week.

I have an Ambicom CF BT card (www.ambicom.com) on XP Pro. It's the wrost product that i've seen.

1. inconsitency, can't connect most of the time (checked with Serial Interface)
2. pairing is lost most of the time (especially after reboot)
3. In order to connect successfully to my T68, i have to (everytime rebooted/hibernated) run Bluetooth Neighborhood, Discover device, (found computer) then have to turn on T68's dicoverable, then Discover device again ... etc etc (and not successfull everytime)
4. When connecting, a dialog will always shown to select which connection to use (although there is only one available) I think it should assign a special dedicated virtual com port for the pair device and stop asking!
5. Can't connect when the phone no longer in discoverable mode (even when paired)
6. It will stop working sometime (while connect as modem), and the only solution is to reboot the computer.
7. Needless to say, no luck with Ericsson Phone Monitor... (have been trying lot's of install/unintall)
8. No Bluetooth logo on the card, i suspect they have not gotten SIG's approval.
9. Seems this product is still in early beta and they are already selling it!

Arrrrrg!! anyone else own the same card or facing similiar problem?

float > I'm from malaysia too, having the same problem like you, The Ambicom Bluetooth card is totaly crap. My advice, return back the card and get refund, wait for a good product to be available.

Good luck.

I use the Anycom card,..actually writing from the laptop right now using the bluetooth card and T-68 as modem.

It works very well. I use gprs.

It connects immediatly to phone, and seems very stabile.
I can recommend this card, and its even easy to install, with a good manual

Hi Jan,

Have you used the other applications via the Anycom card? I mean MyPictures, XTND Connect PC, Ericsson Phonebook and SMS Manager, do they work?

Cheers.

totonox:

1. Thx, I'm thinking of returning and do you know any other BT card available in Malaysia? (both CF and PCMCIA)

2. Are you on XP? did you try it on Win2k?

Jan:

1. does the usage transparent to the user? i.e. connect immediatelly while in range without any user intervention?

2. any luck on Phone Monitor based application on XP and Anycom BT card

Anycom will have their XP-drivers out in March.

I use Win ME.

I havent yet tried the card with other applications,..e.g. mypictures.
My main concern was to get the notebook-phone-internet-thing working.

The Anycom card,..when you pair it to the phone, will then show the phone's different bluetooth-profiles...e.g. data-transfer, internet connection and so on.
You can then set-up these "channels", as they are called. You have different options here.
The channels also have the option of being LAN or DUN/ordinary data also.
With bluetooth you are either "server" or "client",..this you set up as well.

When I use channel 1, this is my DUN/internet-connection using T-68 as modem.
Then the bluetooth-card/laptop, needs to be a "client".

You can then set the card to be in "discoverable mode" and "connection-mode".

You also have some security-issues with passwords and so on.

Once I push "connect to internet" on the laptop,..the phone lights up, and connects.
Very easy to use

You get a program called FileTransfer, and also software/setup for bluetooth-printing, and "of course" drivers and software for WIN98/ME/2000 and WIN CE (pda).

Pocket pc 2002 software + updated WIN-drivers can be downloaded at the Anycom-site.

I use the drivers and software, that came with the package, works fine.

More bluetooth-profiles will be added in future-software/drivers.

The manual is very good, quite easy to install, and bluetooth-card worked from "day one"

Thx guys.

I've checked the detail in Anycom's website, it shows compatibility with T68 and "Ericsson Sync Software" in the compatibility matrix.

This sound good, maybe i would order it when XP is fully supported, the only problem the lacking of Headset profile.

Wonder if it support Microsoft's implementation of BT stack in time when it's available...
