Right, just spoke to a very charming if not slightly confusing lady at O2 upgrades. She confirmed that the phone would be available for upgrade 28th (did she mean 26th???) and with my current tarriff of 30 quid on the online 200 deal i would have to pay £119.00 for the phone then 12 months of 30 quid.......WTF!!! O2 your having a laugh arn't ya!!.....Anyway, she said if i phoned back on the 28th (again did she mean the 26th???) then i would more than likely be able to get the phone cheaper (cheaper!!....hopefully for nowt!!!) on my same current tarriff.

Confusion Reigns!!!

That's very confusing. Even after you pick the £19/m tarrif it only has the options of:
Sony Ericsson K800i - 3G (Pre-Order): £49.99 per month
Sony Ericsson K800i + Online 200 (18 month) - Pre-Order: £30.00 per month
Sony Ericsson K800i + Online 400 (18 month) - Pre-Order: £45.00 per month
None of those appeal to me - If I'm gonna be paying £30/m I sure don't want it to be for 18 months! O2 seem to be valuing this phone very highly compared to what the K750 and K700 were before it.

@Jar99 Where it say pay monthly £49.99 next to the phone, it means the phone costs that price on a pay monthly contract. But the £49.99 is a one of payment after which you will only have to pay the £19 per month. Just add it all to your basket and you will see.

So you can order this phone as 3G and non-3G? It sounds confusing. I'm hoping to stay on my £30 a month contract and then get a free upgrade...waivering the £50 charge. There's no way I'd pay what 02 are suggesting! Surely if you just cancel your account and then re-open a new one you'd be able to pay just the £50 and not over £100 as some have been told!?

Oh, and another thing. I got my K750 on 02 more or less one week after it was first released and it too was priced at £50 - a charge I never had to pay!

Yeah, I've been with then since they were Genie, and never had to pay for an upgrade yet.
Last year they emailed me, telling me I might be paying too much line rental, so I filled in a form and was reduced to £17.99 from £24, which was very nice of them, but am I now paying the price of that, given that they now want me to pay £179.99 for an upgrade?
I've sent an email to the upgrades department anyway, maybe I'll get a better response from then than I did on the phone. (though I just received an automated response, as I type, that suggests it probably won't even be read).

i rang up and spoke to 'craig' and he said that they now dont have a date atall for the k800 WTF??????. i said i was told the 26th last week her were like "nah mate" ok then fuk you...
i rang back and got a nice sounding young ladie and she said that it be out on the 26th but i still cant pre order,, i said well why not i could just cancel my contract and pre order it again she said it didnt work like that,, why noit????? but she was tooo nice to play hell to so........
i dont mind payin 50 for the upgrade in all fairness, i think i did for the k750.... or pay the same as you do as you would on new contract is fine,, but it should be free as im on the online 400, i think its free with this contract,,,
