Remember 'Q' follows 'P', and I for one would prefer a Q phones, perhaps a Q007

If the next one will be called PXXX or something else....does that really matter?
For sure is that SE will bring another flagship phone. Another cutting edge business phone. Hope not to soon though! hihi I would like to enjoy the P990 a bit longer.
It feels like there are quite a few competitors out there. Qtek (HTC), Nokia N series, Palm Treo, Ipaq, BenQ...etc.
But none of them really "tingled my bell" the same way that the P990 does.
It's a tough game that SE play in. Very small decisions can make or break a product.
To me, at least, SE have made almost all the right decisions.
Of course...you always want more. But hey....there has to be something to look forward to also!

I think SE would keep the P series going... for thier own profit margins mainly.
For example, how many people are still going to purchase the P990 even after it's year late release and out of date technology, I am still quite compelled to it I must admit.
If people were not so addicted to having the latest gadgets then SE would REALLY have to go back to the drawing board, but the reality is that we just can't do without having them.
I also think SE are very cleaver in how they release thier products, there will be at least one more P phone, as the P990 is just not quite up to scratch, which I'm sure the next P phone will cover, even then I still think it will be behind.
But after saying all of this I still want one

I agree with the software concerns. I am a

fan forever.
Just recently I picked up a Nokia model (6682), I never thought I would own a Nokia ever again. The software for this phone is so abundant, I just went crazy went I first got it. Alot of it is free as well.

UI is the best IMO, if we could only get more software there would be no need to experiment outside of

.
For now I am happy with my Nokia, however , I am waiting for that next SE killer phone. Let's go Turttle

I am pretty worried now...
I have had a Nokia N70 for just under a year and I ordered my P990 and it should be with me any day now.
I have read very few professional reviews that have praised it, and now you guys are saying it's the end of the line for the P series.
I love gadgets, and I thought the P990 would be the best handset to keep dicovering stuff on (and it doesnt have the hellish Windows OS, but i am saying that after owning the original SPV).
Have I made a mistake in ordering it, or are you and other reviewers being harsh on the poor little (who am i kidding, its huge!!) P ?

Clie's as the P series successor I saw someone posted earlier? Don't think so but is a good idea though. I liked the Clie's a lot!

Recently I stayed without my P910 for a few days and had to use wife's 'ordinary' UI SE phone. I realised that I am completely lost without touch screen and querty, it was simply unbearable. Also P series big screen is unparalleled, enjoyable for waching pictures and videos, editing office documents, surfing, reading books, etc. With P990 additional advanced features P series is IMO one step closer to perfect phone/pda device which is I believe our common vision. So I think it is far from the last word of P series.

P series phones are a trademark Ericsson /SE design. Which other phone resembles them? I love my P910 and I would be highly disappointed if they were to change the form. As a matter of fact I would get a heart attack!
