Got the new firmware
Bugs got to fix
Opera keeps closing when scrolling the page
phone still moves slow with the transitions especially contacts and messages.
Tell SE to give us the option to switch it off!!!!!!!!

I have already twice upgraded the firmware.
I have 3 problems:
1. Every time the device is completely reset: I loose all the notes (!?!), all the settings (background, sounds, bluetooth, internet, one-click-phone-numbers etc. etc. etc.), most of the extra applications installed...
Even a backup done just before the upgrade and a restore just after does not give me back all above.
Any suggestion how to avoid such a pain next time?
2. Indeed, after a *very long* update procedure and all the problems above, I checked the FW versions and they are STILL THE SAME AS BEFORE THE UPGRADE!!! I still have R7A001 for the phone etc.
3. The sent SMS are erased after some time (a couple of days?). I would like to keep them. Any clue on if and where you can find an option for this?

I have simply resolved this problem by entering the secret menu and playing with the front speaker and rear speaker volume up and down from 0% to 100% and now the sound is loud again and even very loud. It can be heard without having the front speaker on ur ear :S Very strange.

Hi, after the upgrade to phone R9EA001 I have the same problem as another member here, the digits are shown when typing in the PIN and the lock code, which is quite annoying. And they do not start with intl emergency digits.... The backup afterwards did not back up all of my stuff. All my SMS were lost, but this is probably because I could not back it up incl. Unified Messaging, I hope? my Email Accounts disapeared as well...
The whole thing seems to be more stable (no sudden restarts yet), but my web browser e.g. always closes on the first time when I try to open it, the second time it works.
T9 has been fixed and works well now in two languages.
The USB connect icon showed up suddenly, even if the phone was not connected.
Otherwise I am still checking:-)
Is there any info actually on what has been changed/fixed in the new fw release? Would be really helpful...
I actually have a direct personal contact to the top management of business development at SE now, if some of you think this could help...

Hadn't noticed that the volume could be changed from the test menu. Now I'm waiting for a call to see the result

The firmware still needs a lot of improvement but it is a bit better.
I think SE is busy producing new models instead of fixing the problems.

I did the same test... however, NO sound from Front Speaker! Do YOU get any sound there?
But my phone is not broken, I can hear clear from the ear/speaker which is the Front Speaker(?).
Only in that menu, no sound from Front Speaker.
To makbil: the sound volume won't stay at any other level then 50%. Even if you change that in the service menu. The 'adjusting' only is to see/hear the changes while in the menu!

firmware update. I spoke to a technician at SE service centre.
They have told me to hold before i upgrade to R9, there would be a new
stabilized version out by end of this month (End Jan 07). I hope
the new version will bring some light to the unresolved issues.

My problems with RA14 Organizer Firmware are this ones, and very few are really bugs:
lack of bookmarks button on opera
lack of option to switch off transitions (although sometimes they are off, even withou video running on backgrouns - weird)
memory management should be more improved, although now i have NO reboots at all and few kernel errors (1 since tuesday)
lack of information on standby screen like M600
can´t change menu icons like on M600
rss reader should support images
image thumbnails and applicacion icons are low res or suffer from compression, just like contacts images
lol thanks for outlining what i wanted to know.... i was thinking of keeping my p990i till the firmware came out to see if it would make is more m600i like... shame the the m600i seems be more logical and intelligent then the flagship
