I think Peter is right. Between

and Samsung,

makes BETTER digicams . . with that, the PREMISE of assuming that

will make better camfones as well is very and HIGHLY - PROBABLE . . . I am seeing some Samsung digicams OUT in the market as well . . . though very LIMITED, unlike with Sony Cyberhots . . . they carry models ranging from 3.2 TO 12 MegaPixels !

It's not the megapixels that counts.
Instead of squeezing more megapixels into a phone, and thus creating huge sized low quality pictures, they should install good quality glass lens, and bigger CCD with good lowlight sensitivity and less noise.
3 Mpx is enough for all.
The reason I think is marketing. 10 megapixels could be selled easier then 5 Mpx even if the picture quality is the same.
Almost everybody searching a new phone has no photographing knowlegde at all, they only know that 10 is more than 3.
hhmm.. more like EOS technology... the one with Canon...

IMHO 3Mp is enough. They should focus on a more compact optical zoom and better video recording.

Which the D900 covered, of course, it has a lot of flaws, but Samsung released another similar phone which has 3G or HSPDA or something like that. I'm pretty sure this B600's lens can't be too bad, I mean come on, Samsung makes pretty good quality stuff. I would wait for pictures taken by this phone first before you guys should judge.
@*JoJo
when did I say the W900i was shitty? I just said that people don't seem to complain when SE makes lame phones.

I think

will be better
he's rite tho

NOKIA are pretty much behind in terms,
this phones been around along time and finally it's hitting the shelves all over the world.
tbh tho I think these major companys need to really sit down and survey what the consumer wants in there next handset.
are TV phones all the rage?

Some people seem to confuse Sony, Ericsson and SE ! While the 2 'founding' companies have had a input into starting SE they also have shareholders to account to. Just because Ericsson is the biggest wireless networking company it certainly does not mean SE has 'EDGE' in all their handsets. And same with Sony ! While sony manufacture good to very good handycams, it does not mean SE have the best video recording cells out there !

What a waste 10mp now?
They trying to hard by thinking the highest MP cam means the best phone out there
Im sure Sophia with a 5MP will be more than enough!

The video camera quality is a software limitation!
Videos taken with the camera would look better when Sony Ericsson would
allow a higher video bitrate and/or changing the recording format:
H.263 (176x144)
AMR Narrow-Band
to:
MPEG4 (320x240)
25 fp/s
199 kbps
AAC

I don't quite agree with you on this one. SE is definitly not 'actively' reducing/degrading the quality of their products in any way ! They (and every other company) are trying to do exactly the opposite of what you are suggesting (IE improving). The thing is, video recording means video encoding (very, if not the most system demanding application) and there is the problem. If you carefully observe which cellphones are good at it, you'll get a more appropriate answer. While a non os driven device (IE a handycam), needs specialised hardware to do the job at a 'acceptable' speed,a os operated cell has a 'hidden' advantage.Nokia for example, are already thinking about hidef video recording in the not to distant future, while most of the competition haven't even got a decent vhs quality cell recorder.Nokia has invested in a fairly simple but apparently powerfull enough OS and now are reaping some benefits. They are already the biggest digital camera sellers as of last year and video is next
