@Residentevil

Quote:from the bloomberg article:
"Profit from mobile phones, LG's biggest business by revenue, fell 70 percent to 59 billion won, missing analysts' estimates, as handset prices dropped. Sales at the division fell 11 percent to 2.19 trillion won. The division was projected to report 74 billion won of profit on sales of 2.18 trillion won.

It seems their profits fell 70% from the price-war as well as a decline in sales - which when you consider that the market as a whole is growing, isn't good news.

Well SE has done admirably considering its size in relation to Nokia etc.

Remember how annoyed we were when SE separated and Cyber-shot. Well it's done wonders for their profits, and we were wrong.

And the strategy is probably going to continue in 2007, plus the promise of slim phones for the fashion area.

- predict Samsung will be no.2
- nokia at #1

In 2006:
- SE displaced LG in ranking
- samsung no.3 position is threatened
- nokia at #1

In 2007:
- ??? (star gazer please comment)
- ??? (star gazer please comment)
- nokia at #1 (star gazer not needed)

has been outperforming the market for the past 6-7 quarters, which is hardly a flash in the pan is it?

Plus, the almightly Nokia might be No1 Globally but it has to be said that there are more than a few markets where Nokia's dominance has been reduced dramatically.

Take the UK for example: Nokia was absolutely and soundly hammered last quarter by both Samsung and and doesn't look like it will be recovering anytime soon.

Oh, how the mighty have fallen!

You are so sure??.

- Some had said that it is in evitable that Samsung will be No.2 in the world.
- Some SE fans were quite adamant that it is inevitable that Nokia will continue downward slide after bashing in 2004.

you just have to look to graphics of the evolution of SE financial data since it was created...just watch the trend, there´s nothing of "good fortune" in that...its called good management
