The sound of the walkman and non-walkman phones is the same except for some non-walkman phones that lack the MegaBass option. Actually the difference between the walkman and non-walkman phones is the music management. I meam the way the walkman player organizes the music. It has much better media player which sorts the music the way you want it to play. The sound is the same.

You right max_wedge i had K700i before W700i. And they both have the same sound quality.
Maybe it's only my K800i... (R1GB001)
Or maybe it's just my ears.... ??!!!

well, a lot of peeps are reporting sound problems with K800 - personaly I think it's just the lack of megabase that makes it seems worse. I don't use megabase myself, though if you use mongoose's modified driver the megabase is much more useable

I have just upgraded from a w800i to a new fancy w880i. The phone is fantastic, apart from the speaker sound quality is absolutely disgraceful. Worse than my the LG shine and even my old nokia 7610! The phone has no size to it and has got a tiny speaker which reduces the quality.
I've had the phone for about a week and I'm gonna replace it as I can't live without the loud speaker. I use it everyday, but now I can't, it's that bad. The difference between the w800i and w880i is huge. The sound quality from the w880i is ear splittingly bad.
