Wouldn't mind a girlfriend like you, at least I won't have to worry about the phone bill

That statement sounds dodgy....hahah anyway I im suprised alot of you are giving figures under £50 when some of you guys have like 10 different contracts...haha

Highest if memory serves me right was £750 or something like that, but not it averages just on £200 a month.

Hi all,

Well when Mobiles first launched and i had my own company i was running a Motorola 8000s and a Motorola 6500X Car phone (yes phones actually used to be fixed in cars) and at the time call charges were 25p per minute charged by the minute. My bills used to average £1,500- £2,500 per month.

But as car phones sold for £1,000 to £2,500 and Potables £3,000 odd there was plenty of profit to pay them.

My highest bill was £200 when i went to the usa on Orange.

What i didnt Know is that when you use the phone in the USA, When you press call / Send on the mobile, then the call starts from there. So even if the person doesnt pick up at the other end, you get charge 1 min and on Orange its £1.10 per min.

so 10 tries = £11 "not bad" for no one to answer at the other end!!

My highest ever bill came to £637 but it was written off as i am now bankrupt due to other debts. I will never get a contract again nothing is clear and its all one big rip off. The large bill was with Vodafone in Cyprus before Cyprus came part of Vodafone Passport. So bill was huge plus it had massive GPRS charges. I think the whole mobile industry regarding charges on everything.

My biggest mobile bill was NZ$335 (about GBP110) when I was working as a courier in 2001. At the time my then-girlfriends phone account was regularly NZ$3,000+ (GBP1,0000+) per month!

It caused her quite alot of problems, she was quite adicted to calls, texts, downloading ringtones...
