ahh, does the nano have 2.5" screen look at the size of the w880, and then look at the size of 30gb/80gb and see why it has a larger screen.... im sure if the w880i was 80gb ipod size it would have had a bigger screen....

But the pc compatibility takes to long man you gotta plug this plug that install all this software and hope it doesnt crash plus you gotta open the software sort the mp3z etc. All that time I could be growing some tea leaves to drink my tea.

With a phone just pop in the mem card in a mem card reader and drag and drop.

iPod: plug in the cable, sync (it's fast!), and eject.

Memory card: extricate from phone, put into reader, wait for reader to mount as a drive, open up a drive folder, find your music, drag'n'drop to the card, eject, put back into phone.

Your "tea" (it sounds like it's more than that) is clearly affecting your perception of the flow of time, LOL

@jedi-master: screen size has no correlation with drive size And the Nano doesn't play videos, so it doesn't need a big display.

You don't need to take the mem stick out or anything like that, it should be recognised as a portable drive once you plug it into the PC with the DCU-60 cable. You can also use Explorer to drag and drop files onto the phone, much better and quicker than Disc2Phone. That's what I do, much quicker and easier!

screen size has no correlation with drive size i am talking about the final products physical size if it had bigger screen...

so, the w880i is thin and small, and it's a PHONE, so doesnt need a big screen.

edit: this thread is about ipods and why people dislike them..... i think we should stop comparing and apple ipod.... yes im aware ive just done this above twice, but will stop posting off topic...

now you are being silly .... haven't you heard of PC sync with phones ?
you just plug the phone in ... drag and drop the music.... disconnect and viola ....

from reading your last posts it is obvious that your soul intent is to convince people that iPods are better than phones WITHOUT listening to other opinions or opened to debate

Maybe this thread and its author are the reason Esatonians seemingly dislike iPods, then again maybe Esato members just dislike iPod discussions that go on and on about the same old cliche'd subjects...

There is aboslutely nothing quick or easy about a direct USB connection between a computer and phone. My first W810 killed itself within 10 hours of such a connection, even though I properly "ejected" the phone "drives" and the phone reported I had successfully done so.

And when it does work, it's sloooooow.

Whenever a phone vs. iPod discussion crops up (which is often), there are always 10 users arguing against every 1 iPod user. I'm baffled as to why.

The main argument is convergence. But what about capability? I'm in favor of convergence, but not at the expense of capability, which is the sacrifice built in to most multi-function mobile devices on the market today. makes great phones, but the capabilities therein pale in comparison to an iPod video.

PC compatibility: iTunes is available for Windoze and Mac; Disc2Phone is PeeCee only.
PC integration: iTunes blows away the joke that is Disc2Phone, for organizing and transferring content. And iTunes does so much more...
Storage: iPods come in sizes from 1 GB to 80 GB. What's the largest MSDP currently available? 8 GB, I believe, and - by itself - it costs as much as an 8 GB iPod Nano!
Navigation: The iPod automatically organizes your content extremely logically, and the click-wheel makes it extremely easy to find specific content. content organization is entirely manual, and getting to it with a D-pad or joystick is a chore. (Especially if you have a larger memory card filled to capacity. Yikes!)
Display: iPod video and W880 are both QVGA resolution with 65K colors. But, the iPod's display diagonally measures 2.5" vs. the W880's paltry 1.8".
Sound Quality: If all you care about is (muddy) bass, phones are great. For clean, balanced, dare I say "reference" sound, the iPod is unbeatable.

I know this because, for the past week, I've performed an experiment. I've used my iPod only in my car (since I have an iPod connector in there, but not a generic RCA L/R stereo one), while relying on my W810 for everything else. I grant you, it is more conevenient to have one device instead of 2, especially when a call or message comes in. But everything else - transfering, managing, and enjoying music and movies - has been pain.

So tell me, why the hate, then? Does the convenience of one device, a phone, outweigh the capabilities of 2 devices?

I will say, though, that we've entered the twilight year of stand-alone small-capacity, limited-capability dedicated music players (e.g. iPod Nano). Which is undoubtedly why Apple introduced the iPhone this year

I have a iriver U10, I drag n drop the music to it thru windows explorer, then I start iriver plus 3, click "update database" and I'm done.

Can a ipod + itunes beat that? nope ;]

The reason many don't like the iPods are b/c of the fact that the iPods suck in functionality, for others it don't fit their ideology or their style, some don't want to carry around many devices etc, kids love the phone + music thing.

I grew up with adidas and the brand (yes I'm a bit old xD), so I'm glad the brand is back again and that the phones are well done.

Everyone don't like iTunes, I for one don't like it, I don't want to auto sync my music.

Storage is no problem, u can do with anything above 1GB for everyday use, and no, no iPod can hold all my music...

iPod G5 (there is no Ipod Video) has a 2,5", cool, but how cool is it when the battery don't last a whole movie? For TV eps/mvids, it's great though.

Then you talk about the scroll wheel, it's ok, not the ultimate thing though. Think about this, in a you can push the 's' button and go directly to the songs that start with a 's', u can't do that with a iPod.
Both concepts have cons and pros.

Btw, next time u start a thread or post something, try not to sound like a mac taliban ok... it's hard to take you seriously when u express your self like one. If you don't want others to be offencive, then don't be it your self.
