No it IS worth it, you buy a more expensive phone for the camera. If you don't want the camera you buy the less expensive phone. Works the same here...
And Mik also baring in mind that Sony may already have I don't know, but will be releasing console updates over time that will gradually increase the amount of old PS1 and PS2 games that can be played.

I heard Sony are talking about not letting you trade in games, to extort more money buy only having brand new ones on sale, is this true?

already there is price drops. aria(or something like that).co.uk has them for under £400.
i thought it played most ps2 games fine just with noticeable little glitches but nothing major. i'm sure they will update firmware etc. in the future and every game will work just fine. But when i buy a ps3 i doubt i will be playing ps2 titles anyway as all these graphics on the ps3 games are brilliant.

they removed it because production is quicker and cheaper without it. Also by "every"other region you mean Japan and US....the UK, all of Europe, Australia and maybe even the new batches to be sold to Japan and US are made without it now.
Either way....whats the big deal? If people want to play PS2 games by a PS2. Buy a PS3...play PS3 games for the love of God!

Not in the case of my 8800
But anyway... supply has met demand but in the case of new technology.. the PS3 is a very cheap blu-ray player so in some cases it's worth it..
Metal Gear Solid 4 is the one that attracts me.. I'll be getting it after I get the Elite and after it's dropped in price...

If you use Ebay you'll notice that they themselves are playing a part in not letting people exploit others with leaving them no choice but to pay ridiculous prices. Various rules about selling the PS3 alone have already been set up...
Also, the not allowed to trade in games and a few other similar rumours were nothing more than that, thankfully!
