Just updated my phone last night. It only took mine 15 minutes to update and here are some of my observations on MY phone with its new firmware:
1. The rear speaker is louder now. It sometimes produce a cracking sound when I put it to maximum. This did not happen before in the previous firmware. It is not a bug or something. The sound now is just too loud that the speaker sometimes can not handle it.
2. Since last night i tried opening almost all applications to see the effect on the memory. So far i did not see the message about "low memory close some apps (something like that)". In fact it now automatically closed some of the running applications. I had around 10 to 15 applications (pre-installed ones) opened. This morning I opened some again. When i checked in the task manager. Now only 3 applications shown as open.
3. I tried sending 11MB of video file trough bluetooth. I then saved the file. It was able to save without the phone hanging up. Before it will always hang up after saving large files.
I didnt notice any change in speed. But is now definitely more stable (as mentioned above) than before.

Update: all my many update-attempts wouldn't go past 47%. Essentially the update bricked my phone.
Luckily I'm in a situation where I know people who have access to EMMA directly. They helped me out right away and finally my phone works again and on R6A16 as well.

Memory management seems to be smooth and unobtrusive for the user...
You dont realise its happened whereas before the screen would flicker or pause...
Worrying about how much RAM is available looks like it may be a thing of the past!
Running smoothly for 15 hours now... lets see what uptime we can get...
