I think the best way to do it would be to list the prices of some common items which can be purchased and then compare it with the price of the phone. For e.g. in India:
1 litre Bottle of Water => 12.00 INR = 0.295931 USD
1 can of coke => 20.00 INR = 0.493218 USD
1 Mc Donald's Chicken Burger => 30.00 INR = 0.739827 USD
1 SE W810i => 14,000.00 INR = 345.253 USD
So, one w810i can buy me 466.67 Mc Donald's burgers.
How many mc donald's burgers can a W810i buy in your country?

here in dominican republic is like this:
macdonald's value menu: 100 pesos ( 3.12 dollars)
Sony Ericsson W810: 11500 pesos (360 dollars)
