personally i don't find a difference in playback quality between walkman phones and non-walkman phones, but that's just me. there's a thread in here that discusses the matter in detail, you might want to look that up.

@bodum

To be honest i haven't a clue as i am not interested in spending loads of time to encode my Music. I just put a CD in the drive use the Nokia Music Manager set at best which is the 160kbps AAC and let it it do it's job.

As long as the resulting quality is good that's all i care about, the average file size using this conversion s approx 4mb and as i said the quality is excellent both in volume, bass and sound separation. I really do think trying to get the most amount of tracks on card is not the way to go as quality will suffer but of course this is just MO and preference and very one is free to do as they choose.

Marc

You just answered your own question!

Also, can play AACs as well as MP3s.

i would think getting a nano with a phone would be a sensible choice concerning your needs. what's the problem with 2 devices anyways? i keep some songs that i listen to more often on my phone, and i don't mind always carrying my nano considering it's size.

@doggmann
ah, ok. as you say it's a matter of balance between quantity and quality . just think that it would be rather a waste considering your excellent headphones...

I really like my W950 with the bluetooth headphones. I've got over 50 albums on mine at the moment.

Looking forward to the next one though, that looks sweet!

it's a matter of personal preference I guess. With a gig currently on my phone (and 2gb soon - prices are dropping), I don't feel the need to have a separate mp3 player, so for me the question is WHY carry a nano when I've got the same thing in a phone?
