I'm guessing they didn't implement wifi g so people who are making heavy usage of internet or downloading big files often will have to use the 3G radio.
Who's gonna be happy? the carriers, hence more chances that they subsidise the handset (and brand them with crappy soft)

you don't need G anyways it's since the speed bottlenecks anyways...

You can get a N95 in germany for 649 € (up to 779 €)
I think 599€ fot P1i is a bit to much ... and Q3 a bit to late
