My question again is why is it the the colour is not as alive as other LCD wit hard screen protectors?? There is a big difference.
I actually believe its a normal high res LCD screen and no TFT in it. If that makes any sense.

Battery life doesnt bother me since i charge my phone every night
The thing here is that there is no SE phone that can compare with the screen quality of my 6300.. And for the that say that your eye cant see the difference, try to compare an 6300 with any SE in real life... Im a big SE Fan but im not returning untill i see a better display

in most phones, there will be an LCD protector glass or hard plastic cover attached to protect the screen. this is regardless of brand, as it is a basic practicality considering the fragile nature of LCD displays. of course if you take the cover off, you can 'touch' the real LCD surface, not only with Nokia but with any other phones as well. as far as I know, the only phone without such a layer of protection is the Nokia 6131. so it's not true to say that Nokia phones do not have the protective layer.
for the n95, the display is confirmed to be 16M color TFT (http://www.nseries.com/nseries/v3/media/sections/products/tech_specs/en-R1/tech_specs_n95_en_R1.html). why does it distort when pressed? some phone displays use cheaper plastic to protect the LCD, which would both distort the color and also be soft enough to press. I think this is the case with the n95. there is also the light sensor, which adjust the display backlight accordingly and could affect the colors displayed.

I havent seen the 6300 screens as yet, so cant say much about it.
But if you charge yr phone everynight, probably of high usage the N95 will suck for you!! In one day ok i was up for almost 24 hr on Saturday, at 3am I couldnt take a picture coz the battery died.

true, there is no SE phone so far that can match the display of the Nokia 6300 and some others with 16M colors. but the point being, the display does take up a lot of power. if you feel that this is a good compromise, having a good display in place of extended battery life, then fair enough. but battery life is a more important priority to a lot others I believe.

Because they dont use the same screens!! Is that too hard for you to understand? SE produced a better screen thats why their colors are more alive. Its got nothing to do with hard screen or whatever.
And for your 911, my N71 depicts the same behavior, press it and you'll notice all the color mashing.!!!
Basically you didnt even know that all mobiles used LCD thats why you kept on saying N95 uses and LCD!!!

Well whatever it is, the N95 screen is LCD like my screen and TV!!
So is the N71. Infact you can add N90 and N93 to that list too.

i saw the mi3 on n73, it was very impressive. well, imo the screen quality counts at pix and videos ( soemtimes wathcing tv ), but u dont have to forget, that the quality of the video depends on the format and right settings as well. so if it is, even 6233 or w810 can offer u really good moments.

As for LCD and TFT, just a bit more explanations:
LCD means, as was already mentionned, Liquid Crystal Display. Why? Well simply because the active medium is a liquid which has some properties of a crystal. The one we are interested in is the fact that the molecules constituting the liquid have a tendency to align themselves in the same direction. Now, what is even more interesting is that by applying an electric field to the molecules, they loose their alignment. And they don't transmit the same quantity of light depending if they are aligned or not.
There are many different molecules that have these properties, or similar ones like changing the polarization direction of the light. So, many different types of LCD have been marketed, like TN (twisted nematics), STN (super-twisted nematics, etc.
Now, how is the electric field applied to the liquid crystal? The simplest way is to enclose the liquid between two sheets of glass, one with a grid of horizontal electrodes and the other with a grid of vertical electrodes. Of course the electrodes are made of very very thin layers of metal, so that they are transparent. By applying a voltage difference between one horizontal and one vertical electrode, the molecules lying at the intersection of the two will be submitted to an electrical field and change their alignment, and finally their transparency.
Technology evolving to increase contrast, power consumption and the like, the new modern LCD screens use a thin film of transistors (TFT) arranged in a grid, instead of electrodes. One transistor per pixel per color in fact.
So, LCD means the type of material that forms the image, whereas TFT means the way an electrical field is applied to the material.
To push things a little further, it is the parasitic condensator of each transistor that generates the field. A diode also has such a parasitic condensator, and so some LCDs are of the TFD type (thin film diode).
