i never said that the N95 is a piece of crap but i don't agree that it does everything because it doesn't it has Excellent features but i compared it to the SE P990 and i found that P990 is better for me although there are a lot of people complained about the p990 but i found out if you know how to really use it and understand the tricks you won't have any problems besides the p990 can use external memory up to 8GB. but the N95 is only up to 2GB.

The following comic book:

I'm sure I got the link from this forum originally.

For my money, the K800 takes better photos in general real world situations - in spite of having 1.8 million fewer photosites on its sensor. The N95 is certainly capable of taking better photos than the K800 when the conditions are right, it just seems that those situations are not as common as one might hope for.

Hi all,

I really fail to see how or why the N95 and the P990 are being compared with each other as one is a full on business device with some Multimedia abilities. Whilst the other is a Multimedia device with business abilities unless you add a SU-8W bluetooth keyboard the N95 is not ideally suited for Data Entry or editing on a large scale. Although it is more than able to accomplish these tasks, just look at the niche market the P990 sells to and compare that to the wider market and the numbers that the N95 has sold already and all this from a much more expensive device than the P990.

If you want to compare like for like fair enough but then compare an SE M600 with a E61, or an E61i with the soon to be launched P1 at least they are both targeted at the same markets.

Also the P990 has been out 9 months already and the N95 just over a month and you really can't compare spec's at all but then they are designed to do different things.

The N95 without the faster processor and full version of the graphics chip would not be able to support VGA 30fps video recording which is very much part of it's multimedia abilities.

The P990 as primarily a business device this is not deemed to be of such great importance, can't we all stop this constant mines brilliant your is rubbish comments it really is getting very tiresome, for those that want a touchscreen and SE the P990 is the ultimate device and they wouldn't swap them for anything for those that prefer the N95 great let them enjoy them also, just use what you want like or need and accept your choice isn't right for everyone although it is for you.

Yeah i didnt really wanna start a flaming war. Just wanted a bit of advice guys. Qvga you mentioned the xenon flash, well i do like my k800 but that is what lets it down. I think that if nokia produce a 5 mega pixel camera phone they should back it up with a decent flash. Its big enough! I dont think i'd go for the n95. Its too big and has features i'd probably never use. You say about everyone using xenon flash cus sony ericsson did. Well its been around for a while and it would be the obvious next step in camera phones.

@DonJuan

I don't actually own a N95 but from some of pictures i have seen and what people and reviews have reported apparently it has a very bright flash. Whilst not as good as the K800's Xenon flash but then what phone is? it is surprisingly bright. But then you can't really compare any of the other features of the K800 besides the camera and flash with what the N95 has to offer as the N95 is only a month and the K800 how old now? and they are different types of devices.

N95 flash is more effective than K800 up to 3-5 feet. N95 LED is very strong so picture comes out bright and clear. The reason why K800 loses (3-5ft range) is because the Xenon is too strong and picture comes out white/over-expose. Further than this distance K800 wins all the way.

the point of the xenon flash is to illuminate the subject with as natural lighting as possible, not just illuminate the subject. you want your night shots to come out looking with proper colors like taken in daytime, rather than having some pasty looking thing with weird zombie-like colors masquerading as your photo subject. therefore I do think that xenon flash is a natural step forward in terms of mobile photography.

and if I'm not mistaken, xenon flash is a company of it's own, and SE would most likely have to pay them to use their technology on it's devices. this is doing right by it's customers as it's a proper return on what they pay for, unlike some other mobile manufacturer who stuck some LEDs on their CZ lens device and called it a 'proper' camera...

Back to the topic lol not gonna comment on the 'flash' issue besides saying i think n95 takes very good night shots.cant comment on k800 as i've never really tested it.if n95 is too big for you then dont even consider a p990 as the size is what put me of personally.wait for the t650 or sofia which would probably have 5mp and xenon flash as it seems cam is most important feature for you.to me it was about balance and i think n95 does everything well...not perfect though.

So the point is that the only phone that can really replace a K800 is an N95? If anything it tells how good the K800 is. Sometime you can't get everything you want when you want it. So if the N95 is not it, I'd wait, no harm done really.
