hi, does the body get scratched at all? Does the screen get smudged easily or scratched...

thanks for your info

In anticipation of SSE's reply, my (prototype) P1i has gotten only 1 scratch on it in about 3 months use (although you'd have to look closely for it). I haven't kept it in a case or pouch, but managed to keep it pristine by making sure it's in a pocket with no coins, keys, etc. I've had a screen protector on it since the second day of using it, so no scratches on the screen. (Screen protectors should be standard issue for any touch screen phone in my opinion!). As with most touch screen handsets, it only gets smudged when you hold the screen *against* your cheek really.

Maybe a stupid question but which button do you press to answer incoming calls?

When you have an incoming phonecall, 3 buttons appear at the foot of the screen: YES - MUTE - NO

Please can you time how long it takes for:

Phone freshly booted, received text message.
Press 'Yes' to open message from home screen.
How long before you can see the content of the text?

On my M600 it seems to take ages.

the p990i cant handle agile messenger and then switching to opera/opera mini(opening esato for example). if the p1i can do this, then that's sweet!

@bencook

I can try later to see the timing but i waiting for time for it to crash or the "reboot for better performance' message before I reset it.

I've just timed my M600 for comparison. Here's what I did:

1. Reboot phone
2. Wait for a few mins for it to load everything into memory
3. Get friend to send one word SMS to me
4. Press 'Yes' on prompt to read SMS and start timer
5. As soon as message text is fully displayed stop timer.

I'm surprised: 8.7 seconds! I didn't realise it was THAT slow! The only app I have running in the background is Exchange ActiveSync.

I checked the free memory after opening the SMS: 13.8MB.

On SMS - I've noticed that the inbox on my M600 gets a lot slower as more messages pile up in there. If you have a spring clean once in a while, either by deleting or archiving older messages off into a separate folder, you can really speed things up.
