Well if you were so happy to quote it implies you believe it as you didn't even question the statement or are you know saying you do admit and realise that that statement is incorrect and bears no resemblance to the truth. In fact i have even pointed it out before the last time such an absurd statement was made on this forum a quote from an awards ceremony if my memory serves me correctly.
Why on earth would we not believe mobiletoday? Or should we believe you instead?
Do you have some sort of grudge against them? Its a very well respected website, it has a close relationship with dealers (its the only reliable source of UK weekly sales figures), it churns out interesting, unbiased articles religiously and has a breadth of knowledge which must even supercede your own - surprisingly!
The K800i might have initially had erom issues initially but, correct me if I am wrong, was this an issue that followed it through its current sales success?
The industry recognises that Cyber-shot phones are reknowned for their imaging quality, have great pulling power and the simple fact that the K810i has been stood shoulder to shoulder with the N95 confirms this. So I can't think of any reason why the K850i shouldn't be held up in the same regard.
Really the way some of you will defend SE for anything they do and never see any wrong doing ever is beyond belief and the realms of reality. You are right though i have much better things to do then correct bad journalism i have my E90 to play with so once i have slept and it has charged that's what i will do and continue to avoid pointless discussions where of course I'm always wrong or is that right? definitely much more fun than discussing SE's failings for sure especially with those that just can't accept the truth or facts.
Really Marc, if it hurts you so much to even contemplate that SE and Samsung phones are regarded in the industry for having a low return rate, that it makes you want to take your ball and run home, then you need to have a good quiet word with yourself. There are more important things to cry about.

@Doggman, Goldenface & especially to JuanPuablo!
Gentleman .... Gentleman! If this is what you are then kindly ACT the part. You can agree to disagree without resorting to borderline insults or degrading or defaming 1 anothers point of view.
@JuanPuablo ... last I checked niether YOU or me or MULTIPLE other members OWN this thread NOR control the content here. Last I checked this is a FREE membership and OPEN thread - regardless of the generous contributions that needed to keep this site alive in its rough times just over 1.5yrs ago. And as such can be used to disguss competing brands & strategies. Always remember that competition is GOOD for EVERYONE, SE & NOKIA alike. This allows for others to see what the competition offers, and in no way takes away from Esato's fan base nor from the $$ out of YOUR pocket. Let others choose whats best for them, and to comment - heck even GLOAT or flaunt about it. Nokia's advancements in technology choice and feature set is STILL dependent on the advancement of the core underlying OS ... one that SE first chose to use and STILL uses today ..... Symbian! If Nokia didn't push this platform nor invested in it today we'd be using PPC/Standard MS Editions, JUIX from Motorola, or worse yet Palm stagnant OS 5.x!!!
So let others choose and show what they enjoy for their needs. Lastly, one of Ericsson's brace was interviewed by Esato's creators, so don't think they don't pay attention to what discussions happen here. A GREAT part of SE's popularity CAME from ESATO and other SE sites spawned there after so SE owe's GREAT HOMEAGE TO ESATO
Esato a forum of PPL, not just the Ericsson/SE devices alone, and as such involves a community centered for the love, experiences and gripe of SE phones/ advancements/mistakes as a whole. PlanetNokia has a GREAT deal of reviews just on SE phones. This is 2007 not a common mind thought of 1940 WWII! Get over it and you may learn what listening to others experience may show WHAT you're missing in an SE phone and what you enjoy more of what you have in an SE phone. For example ...

I love the ease of use, speed, and clearness of icons on the SE platforms! Nothing compares yet, save for iPhone & S60's lately as their icons are getting very clean. But I want to be able to have more text or FULL text synced from MS Outlooks Notes into my phone. I keep very good notes in Outlook that I'd like to call up without splitting into multiple seperate Notes. And I want NO LIMITS on how many I save except that out of phone total shared memory or external m2 card. I wish to USE a note attached not to the home screen but also to an alarm or calendar appointment (since the latter is so limited with info I can put in there). With these improvements - if they happen - can keep me away from the NEED of owning a smartphone - although I need another BB for more training & understanding and growth of my career.
P1i although elegant isn't enough for me. My phone WILL BE my sole internet connection shortly as BT 2.0+EDR for tethering or over USB will be more common. I'll be working 12hr shifts with 2hr - 1way commutes 4 days straight every rotating shift. Paying for Cable Internet will make no sense unless it become a main internet connection to run a server - that may or may not come. I will be using my phone to record my events and experiences .... better camera quality will add to that, my K790 I just took a rare photo siting of a hawk in the CITY for peaks sake - in a metropolis! and the photo was horrible for a quick photo before it flew off. I will NOT TRUST a smartphone to do this .... takes longer to load a camera app and if the device crashes it just may overwrite my saved - EVEN to external memory card - moment!
Smartphones are getting better but until stability in Symbian increases - trusting precious moments for an only unit I'll still patiently wait until firmware 3 of P1i or W960 debuts. If not then its to java 2me BB's or MS Smartphone for me.

@PROM1
What a nice logical and extremely sensible post IMO if only some could take on your words of wisdom the Forum could return to being a friendlier more civilised place.
@Goldenface
I have nothing against the Magazine what possibly reason could i have? but when the make claims that are obviously not true what possible reason could i have for just accepting it and ignoring the fact that what they have stated is just not true.
They didn't say after initial problems it has a very low return rate they just said it had a low return rate, which as you are well aware is just not so there were lots of returns of most of the early units and that's not really a disputable fact as verified by many members of both this Forum and others that fell victim to this issue.
I love a good unbiased review and to hear others opinions but i don't just believe everything i read blindly as being true especially when i know what they have said is not correct.

Well then its up to you to prove its not correct then isn't it? You can't condemn a statement as rubbish without some evidence to the contrary really can you? Plus, I am sorry but your opinion does not count as evidence.
You're basically saying the editors of mobiletoday are making things up.
I have corresponded with them and know that they are in weekly contact with the nations mobile retailers and have a very good relationship with them too.
So I really can't think of a reason why they would
need to fabricate false statements and post it on their great site which, btw, has a number of high profile sponsors and advertisers.
Its just sour grapes on your part, thats what this discussion is about, plain and simple.

@Goldenface,
Sorry but you are really starting to lose grip on reality here do a search just on this Forum for the K800 won't boot up /red blinking light problem , or my K800 just died, where all these devices had to have the EROM re-flashed or is all that just my imagination? that's the evidence. As i am pretty sure SE wouldn't admit they had any problems even when they exist and even less likely to release any official figures.
What you are claiming and supporting in what the article claimed are just not true simple as that really. Please also go back and read what i have said as i have never claimed that the K800 or K810 were rubbish or bad in fact quite the opposite is true as i have said they are great camera phones. But i just do not accept this fallacy that the K800 had no problems and low returns when first launched the K800 suffered badly and took SE releasing a new EROM flash to resolve the issue and those are the facts i really can't see how you can dispute this. Unless you are able to time travel and change History.
What sour grapes i don't get how or why i would have sour grapes as stated above i think these are great phones just not trouble free in the case of the K800. So what sour grapes do i have i haven't claimed any other device is far better or they are rubbish. It is you that just can't accept and get over the simple fact that when the K800 launched it had some major problems with the EROM they fixed so all is well. But the fact is they shouldn't of had to fix it it shouldn't of happened in the first place. You are the one with sour grapes that just finds it so painful and hard to accept that SE are able to screw up and are far from being perfect, just how unrealistic is that.
Do me a favour and give me an E-Mail contact and i will ask them how they could make this statement and explain to them why i think it is incorrect and will happily post all correspondence on the Forum because despite what you are claiming they are most definitely wrong.
Marc
