I definitely noticed that when you are in a weak 3G signal area you should definitely not use "3g or GSM" mode. The phone will keep on trying to check for strongest signal of the two and the battery goes down really quick.
thanks for the idea, to get more juice from my phone, maybe ill try to turn off 3G until i really need it.

Can u guys confirm this - when I charge my Battery I get this strange noise - it happens also when the cradle is on but no charging - its coming from the adapter which is plugged in.
I had that same thing on a later stage with my k700i and I think that made the battery go out faster
Do you hear that strange hum noise?

Its not that unusual for a charger to hum when in use, however it MAY be indicative of a failure. If the charger is working ok then you probably don't have an issue.
Personally I would get any charger that hums when in use changed as faulty, but that really is a personal preference.

So is your adapter humming or have you heard others complain about it?
I just want to hear what other people are saying, before I go and replace it

I remember someone saying that theirs was humming, mine seems fine so far. Happened once a while back with another phone but my SE ones seem to be pretty good so far

maybe we can use as a test on how many % will it reduce from fully charged 100%, with all features turned off but the GSM (3G turned off too) for like 30 minutes, or 1 hour)
i tried the 30 minutes test specified above (with 3G turned off) and the poster is right, no % dropped within 30 minutes.

U have to make sure to check it with the swiss manager - the P1i in built is not that exact, especially on full charge
Anyone on the humming sound - thats something that makes me worried

Yeah... My battery is improving over time, to the point I'm really impressed (especially in comparison to my Pearl and M600)...
Must be a dodgy battery... Definately take it back to the retailer, they will either swap the battery or better than that just replace the lot....
mine too

Another thing - the gprs access point connection thing. It can be turned off if you go to internet- accounts -> more, and choose "only CS" (only circuit switched).
Might be an idea if you're not using gprs all that much (and perhaps connect with 3g for data- transfer anyway) since it will increase the standby- time a bit. (I'm not sure if I see the downside to this, since you'll connect with packet switch when you're browsing the web, anyway. Perhaps mms and sms will be a problem..?)

Chosing "only circuit switching" for internet accounts...but you'll connect with packet switching when browsing anyway? I'm sure I see the logic here...
