To the general public, it's not available as a 'buy it stand alone' product.
To those in the know willing to faff with shipping one from the USA then fine, they can, but for the rest of us, simply not an option.
Still, for £269 even if that were sim free it still seems somewhat overpriced.

when you compate it to say a prada it comes out better spec and the prada was grosely over prices with a 500 quid price tag, even 269 is quite rasnoble for a brand new decent spec phone... a k810i would cost 250 from most highstreet retailers

Again sorry but you are wrong as said by others you go to an Apple store or even a CPW or 02 shop and buy the device for £269 and it's yours.
What the user does after this is entirely up to them either activate it and use an 02 contract Sim or take some of the other options available to them but that is ther choice with their device.
Once bought it is your property to do as you want with it no one can stop you or make you give it back it really is that simple. There will be no need to buy it off E-Bay or import it from the US after the 9th November.
