Just to chuck my tuppence in...
I had a W850i for ages and the phone was brilliant; then I 'upgraded' to the N95 cos of the Wi-Fi, 5MP camera, 'DVD-quality' video and GPS.
Girlfriend said 'dont do it... every Nokia N-series phone will screw up at some point (N80: crap Wi-Fi, N73: random phone shutdowns)'
I didn't listen and got it anyway; 4 months later and I'm now selling the N95 to fund the purchase of a W910.
Why?
1) On a full overnight charge, the N95 doesn't last a day;
2) The software will lock up the phone, needing me to take the battery out to restart the phone;
3) Nokia PC Suite: In a word, shite;
4) I tried using loads of programs to encode TV shows to watch on the N95, including Nokia own software (crashed EVERY time), PSP Video 9 and OuickTime... didn't work with the correct settings;
5) Nokia take the mickey launching the N95 with a crap battery and crap memory, then 6 month later bring out an enhanced version of the phone with a better battery and ten times the memory;
If you want a phone that will be fast, have a good battery and not give you an troubles, chose any Sony Ericsson!
that is pretty much exactly as I would say.....
I did like my n95 but for some reason i feel myself going back to SE and have just sold the n95(if the bloody buyer pays) to hopefully fund a k850i
@kyle....as the type of mobile user you said you were from the first few posts I think w910i will be perfect for you

1st of all I have an N80 AND HAVE NO WIFI PROBLEMS!! You either didnt know HOW to use that N95 OR you just had a phone with corrupt firmware! I have a friend who just got N95 and its a great phone, no problems, no crashes! My N80 has crashed ONLY twice. My W900, a friends K800 and W850 crashd more often! So sometimes its just the phone you have that has problems!
The N81 has a 369mhz processor same as N76, which i have playd with and its WAY quicker than W850 and K810 and to my knowledge the W910 and K850 use the same processor as W850 and K810!! So NO! N81 isn't slow!! The N81 has A SOUND CHIP! Makes its sound far superior to W910, and im already seeing complaints of POOR sound quality from W910 so there we go!
OH AND GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT! N81 and W910 have 2.4inch screen SAME DIMENSION W910 SCREEN AINT BIGGER!
In my case id take 16.7million colour screen over battery! My N80 batt can last me a full day with average use, and since N81 has a better battery im sure it wil last longer!

Yeah its becoming really tiring hear people say this crap over and over again. If nokia was half as bad as you all say, it wouldnt be no.1 and still growing now would it? If N95 was a quarter as bad as you say, it wouldnt sell like hot cakes despite it being 700$.

LOL ... I like this "darknoob" guy. He's funny and I love how he makes up his own phone stats/facts as he goes along! Great work buddy!
All this talk about WALKMAN is so great, it doesn't even have a dedicated DSP for goodness's sake! Some music phone eh?!
DSP, Touch sensitive Navi-wheel (iPod like, NICE!), Stereo speakers (Yup, 2 speakers!), 3.5mm Jack and 8GB to wrap it all up! THAT my friend what MUSIC oriented phone should be!
Oh I forgot, all that high-tech squeezed into the N81 don't mean a thing because it doesn't have the "WALKMAN" logo on it. Darn it, I guess it's crap now since it's missing the word "WALKMAN" that magically makes ANY phone into the greatest music phone regardless of hardware! ROFL!

The N80's display is simply GORGEOUS! After owning one, nothing else really can make me drool over a display like the N80 did!

@Dextrr
1. I know that SE walkman's phone lacks 3.5mm jack and 2 speakers and this is disadvantage, but walkman functions, sense me,shake and more makes you forget these disadvantage. I think the most important things in music phone are input and output sound quality,and how i heard W910 output its very loud. we just need to wait for W910 vs N81 music quality
comparison.
2.N80's screen is amazing;)

Gaming on touch-keys? No thanks.
And which is better, having motion sesor (accelometer) or not? I was pretty astounded when I saw the Marble Madness game. I mean, how cool is that?

@QVGA
Can you please explain what does "too powerful for me" means? Are you planning on wrestling with the phone?
You know what he means, per chance if you failed to understand his intent he meant he might not need smartphone capabilities.
And i'm sick and tired of this 'S60 is complex'.
I'm glad to hear that, if you're sick of hearing it you can visit either
http://www.my-symbian.com or
http://www.allaboutsymbian.com for your needs.

(btw we're all sick of your whineing)
If you people call "anything different than SE UI" complex then change that habit of thinking.
Why should we?
N81 has a million times better screen, brilliant legibility in direct sunlight.
Million times? I wonder how you arrived at that result.
And all this from someone who uses one of Nokias biggest flops in history

shake me thing is the moist useless feature ive seen ever.
wouldnt be too bad if u didnt have to hold the walkman key wen shaking it but u do, which makes it really awkward to use. load of rubbish. i have the w910 and its a brilliant phone, normally phones that are this small and thin don't have features but this one does.
however, if i was choosin between n81 an w910, i would probly go for n81, cos it can do a lot more stuff.
symbian system - endless possibilites
SE system - easy and brilliant to use but boring as fu*ck after a while as not much u can do to it
