of course a symbian fone can have mose bugs, their os is far more complicated as a "simple fone" ones, so the chnace for bugs is also more...

Fine, except for Mac users or Vista users (in the case of SE owners for most of 2007) - or simply those who don't want to have to worry about backing up data and running the risk of losing everything when it crashes. And, how does the average user find out about the update? I know the phone can check each month (and that IS a clever feature on a SE phone) but how many people are coming here to find out - or checking the service every single day in the vain hope it will say "Update available"!!
I would say that your average LG or Samsung phone has a large range of features too - but they very rarely need updating. Usually you buy the phone and it works. Car makers issue ECU updates every now and then too, but I'm yet to buy a car that urgently needs one to make the car drivable. Optimise things, sure, but fixing bugs should be done in the massive lead times on development.
This new hardware platform was already later than intended, so what have they been doing all that time?
Early adopters will always exist, but you can't get complacent. Annoy someone enough and you will scare them off - and it's not as if SE can say they're ahead of the game with everything these days. Nokia is catching up fast, and Samsung, LG - possibly even Motorola - are producing things that will catch the eye of the early adopter with money to burn!!

I had a similar icon appear on my W900i when I got it (also on Voda), and it turned out to be call divert. I never set it up; it did it on its own. Have a look in your settings and see if your K850i has done the same.

I suggest to wait for some months or even a year before buying a new phone. So you will have much more chances to get the bug-free one.

The problem has been solved, i did a master reset and hence it disappeared, but thanks for the response. I found the manual very unhelpful, in terms telling me what certin symbols stand for... i will be unbranding it as soon the firmware is availble,so i can have full control over it; i feel i have no control over it....

After owning a Nokia N80 since September 2006, none of these bugs are turning me away from the K850i in the slightest. My girlfriend got the N80 from Orange and returned it after a few days. I assumed this would have just been 'cos it's a bit bulky and not really a girls phone, so I got it, and loved it for about two weeks. Then I started to realise, no auto-focus, poor flash, constant crashes, crap RAM/Storage space, it was a pathetic excuse for a phone! I've been stuck with it ever since, but Orange have offered me a free upgrade on 06/11, so I'll be taking that and selling my N80, probably still get £50 for it on eBay, better than nowt!

Look how long it takes to do the hi-res display, compared to an ordinary digital camera (perhaps, say, a DSC-T10 which is my plain-old standalone camera).
I thought the processor in the new hardware platform would be quicker than this, but I'm obviously wrong. I doubt this is just poorly optimised code!
