@DarkKrypt, after diggging 7 threads, 3 relevant to this I'd say this is THE most helpful.

I'm going to try Super - because even though I have hacked versions of WinXP (SP1 is official from CD by MS) and Nero 8 (inc Burning ROM) - both working flawlessly - along with .NET v3 installed (tried v2 as well) ... the app M3 will NOT load. It installs without error but will not load.

NOTE: if anyone is having issues with any applications not installing in WinXP (any SP) I suggest the following; related to .NET install issues or apps relying on it.

* SP3 is overrated in WinXP; system wide search is horrible and if you really need it time to upgrade to Vista for a better implementation.

Now ....

1> Goto Microsofts site and search for "Windows Install Clean Up". Be careful with this as once its installed, and you run it from Start> Programs> All Programs ... it'll give you a listing of EVERY software installed on your machine. The description is a bit off so DO NOT select all apps; ONLY SELECT the ".NET" installations and remove them.

2 Close the Windows Install Clean UP.

3. Download the redistributable of .Net v2 (minimum) or go directly to v3.5 and install.

4. Then try to Install any application that you needed .Net for (I needed it for SE Media Manager v1.1).

Sorry off topic but I really needed this for Audio Feeds .

DarkKnight; thanks for a GREAT thread and sourcing tools! Been an EXCELLENT help!
