i agree, the decision about what max volume to use should be left to the user and not limited by SE...

Max sound volume sucks????? I keep hearing people say this a lot but I think the speakerphone is plenty loud already. Besides...are you seriously thinking of using this as a mini boombox? Fact of the matter is, unless you actually use the speakerphone for phone conversations, otherwise using it to play songs and movies is more of a novelty. If you want to talk about low max volume, you should try the Tilt (Tytn II). Now the speakerphone on that really does suck (>.>). Read here

for a little P1i vs Tilt comparison.

And last but not least ....
I agree with 701! ^^

@liaoip

You are right about the speakerphone but we are talking about headphones and A2DP transmission.

oooooooh (@__@)''''

well I read sound volume and I assumed incorrectly I guess.
Hmmm I'd love to try a A2DP headset, but the closest thing I have is just a bluetooth (Plantronics 640). The volume through that isn't too bad and can be quite loud. Though I'm guessing since it's only mono it works differently then the A2DP profile which probably takes a bigger toll on the system.

BTW, since we're on the topic, a few years back I got myself a Bluetooth USB adapter with A2DP and also got a headset with it. The sound quality was as bad as FM (maybe even AM) so I returned it all. Has this improved? What would you say the sound quality is like? Thanks!

Because I tried A2DP with a W580 and it was increadibly loud whereas P1 sucks with it. I can't believe how low the sound level is.

Did you try *up*down,down*down* into the system menu and raise the volume?

There isn't any submenus to raise the volume under system menu.

I thought I read somewhere that you could use the service menu to raise the overall volume. Oh well, it's loud enough for me anyway

@jabbadabba
I remember something like that on Nokia's

@liaoip
I think quality is enough and satisfying. I wish P1 could transmit the sound as w580 that's all. And I'm sure that it can do this.
