@bahraini,

I think its reasonable to compare N81 and W910 if we talk about the pricing.... since W910 is more expensive than N81. A smart buyer will consider the price against what you are getting from a phone. There have been so many comparisons made but its really obvious that N81 offers MORE, as in MORE.....and IMO N81's design is quite impressive and better than W910.

And N81 might be my next nokia phone after 3 years.

Cheers!

Bahraini, Nokia is the obvious competitor to compare them to because (a) they're the biggest, and because (b) historically they were the arch-rivals to Ericsson, and SE essentially is still that same Ericsson phone division, legally separated from Ericsson proper and operating under a shared brand with Sony. A lot of us here remember Ericsson phones, and our frustration at how poorly they sold compared to Nokia; when SE came into being, many of us hoped the re-invigorated brand would make real inroads into Nokia territory. And in fairness, they have, but at the same we've seen Nokia seemingly replace Ericsson as the real innovators in the market, while at the same time retaining much of their market dominance.

You bring up Moto, Samsung, LG etc - and yes, we could debate how their models compare with SE, and no I wouldn't say they were superior - but they're close, too close, and in some cases they've surpassed SE. Again, even a tired old company like Motorola has some newer technology on the market that leads the field from SE. I wouldn't touch their RIZR Z8 personally, but the fact that it takes SE's own UIQ platform and does things like HSDPA in a phone released before the HSDPA-less P1i does concern me. Where the ranges of Ericsson and early SE would once have included literally every new feature available on a phone, now you have once-insignificant companies like Samsung and LG able to boast about capabilities that SE simply don't have in any of their models - that's sad.

^^^ Yeah, I was just reading an article on one of the tech sites which said the N81 might be priced as high as £394 in the UK, not sure about other countries though.

As you asked why

" Also, you mention some are blinded by their love and devotion to . I am curious, why does this affect you?"

Well basically because it makes a logical discussion impossible as people are arguing on an emotional level and ignore the facts.

why u always make SE that bad?

No one is making se bad,But se itself is making itself bad,
with poorly designed phones, worst build quality and high price

well lately, or let me say this thing strated since last year
ive seen many ppl complaining about SE and their phones

SE has not being quite well for few years, so disappointed
se fans are complaining i think

it sound like nothing will make them happy,
they always compare SE with nokia, and worse than this
they compare 2 different type of phones

If Se makes good phones with reasobale price, and good
build quality will make them happy i feel

like last one, W910 vs N81
who is that insane who will make such comparision??
a midd java class phone, with high end smart phone??
huuuuuge different between those phone, why they are
made, and wats their target..

The comparision is based on price i think why get a low
specification phone when u get more value for money
for the same price range phone ???

People look at value for money, is it worth paying "this
much" for this phone
or is it better to get phone which has better functionality
at similar price

also , why always compare to nokia??
why not motorola or samsung and LG
which i think its more logical , cuz those companies are fighting
with each other, and they left nokia alone.
nokia is the only company now who drown the market with their high end
phones.

They compare se with nokia because most of them
use nokia,
As nokia is the market leader

SE is far better than moto and LG
with samsung, i think they r equal , except for the new G800
which gave samsung one step ahead..

Well how did u come to this conclusion
Then how come Samsung, Motorola has better market share compared to SE,what's the use when SE makes good phone , when it does not sell.

here's a fact on Q3 Global Mobile No's

Samsung and Nokia were the star performers in the global mobile phone market for the third quarter of 2007, according to Strategy Analytics. Global mobile phone shipments grew a modest 12 percent year-over-year, to reach 285 million units in Q3 2007, in the latest analyst report. As Sony Ericsson and Motorola cede market to Samsung and Nokia respectively, Apple looks ahead to the first test of iPhone appeal outside the U.S.

“Total global cell phone shipments remain relatively sluggish, at just 12 percent annual growth, but Samsung and Nokia continue to surge ahead. Samsung is the fastest-growing top-five brand, with 47 percent annual shipment growth. Meanwhile, Nokia has easily the highest operating margin among all megavendors, with a 22 percent rate in its handset division.”

Bonny Joy, Analyst at Strategy Analytics, added, “The rise of Samsung and Nokia is coming partly at the expense of Sony Ericsson and Motorola. Samsung is rapidly picking up share in 3G feature phones,

i think we should give SE some credit, for the perfection of the menue
which ppl always complain to change, WHY U LIKE TO MAKE IT DIFFICULT??
just for the sake of a change??

Wht credit should be given to SE,Please list.when rivals are introducing
Gps,engage gaming,optical zoom and upping their tech.you
say SE should be given credit, and that to for a menu which is been just
as old and being just copied into every SE phone .pity

the CAM , sometime i think its either me blind or other ppl just have something wrong with their eyes, cuz after final releaze i see great pics from SE , K850 , NO WAY nokia can be better
but still ppl complain..

So much people cant be blind,K850 camera has been beaten to death
against rivals. Its just ur affinity to SE that makes u blind

i really think we should rethink about wat SE is givving us

yes, they have given us poor quality phones with high price, and every body is switching from se to rivals, and those who havent are rethinking
is it worth buying an SE phone.............
