@ryanchg: Autofocus lens... Exactly what do you mean?

Lens as in Nokia uses Carl Zeiss, what does the K850i use? As i know Cybershot is a technology.

It uses a Sony manufactured lens. While most Cybershot stand alone digital cameras use Carl Zeiss manufactured lenses, Cybershot phones use Sony made lenses. The K750 was the first SE camera phone to use a Sony CMOS lense module (also the first AF lens module from Sony, made specifically for camera phones)

And Since K750 uses a SONY lens, I reckon we can call it a Cybershot. If the Cybershot brand had been released for camera phones at that point, SE would have for sure used the Cybershot brand, but it wasn't until later that they acquired the rights from Sony to use the Cybershot brand name, so K750 only missed out because it was ahead of it's class

Cyber-shot phones should also have the Cyber-shot UI utilised as it is in Cyber-shot cameras. Its this fact IMO that makes it a bit more than just a gimmick.

The cybershot UI in T100 and T200 is far too complex to be used in a phone IMO.

@max wedge,

is it safe to say that ALL cybershot phones now are using sony lenses?

I'm not 100% sure of that, but generally most references I've seen to manufacturer of SE camera phone lenses is Sony. Early phones, such as T610/K700, weren't Sony. I'm not sure about the S700 ccd but I've got a feeling it wasn't Sony? I could be wrong about that.

I think I read somewhere that from the K750 on SE planned to contract Sony for their lenses. On top of this, the 2MP module of the K750 was produced by Sony as the first AF lense designed by Sony specifically for camera phones. The module was marketed to other OEM's as well as SE.

So then what your saying is that All SE cam phones from K750i all use an AF lens?

No. I'm just saying that I think all lens modules from K750 on are made by Sony that's all. They may or may not be AF, for example K610 is not AF.

Ï have a K800i Firmware="R1CF001" CID=unknown.

And now i am eager to get some of the camera drivers that are out there, and maybe better sound.
IS it worth to install these CAM and Sound drivers? Are they much better than the original that my firmware have?

I am what you could call a phone-newbie, when it comes to phones im just scared to sc**w it up beyond recognition.
Well, where do i start? How safe is it? What happens if it doesnt go the way it should, is it just to throw the phone in the garbage and buy a new?

As you can see i am totally new to this phone-modding.
