twice my C key has worked to delete sms, but most of the time it doesn't. It says "the mess is write protected".
And please keep discussions of price etc. on another thread. This thread is bugs only!

Since just before christmas my W960 has shut down 4 times when I have had it in my pants pocket. I can't restart it without first release the battery. It has never happened outside my pocket. I've tried to press the different buttons for a long time to see if that is the problem, but without success. I always keep it in my walkman pouch.

One issue I notice (maybe not a bug, but design flaw) is that I can't delete messages (sms) by checking the check box next to the message in the in-box and then selecting delete from the menu. I have to open each message individually then delete them. Anyone else notice this?
Other than that I don't have any other issues (knock on wood). Having had an M600 awhile back the software certainly seems faster and more responsive.
One thing I am dumbfounded over is the lack of auto focus on the camera. Is the P1 the same way? If not I'd consider that a design flaw as well.

I have no problem deleting messages directly from the inbox when I mark the checkbox. W960 has autofocus, but only in picture mode. Not in video mode.

The P1i has autofocus on its camera. And I'm sure the W960 has it as well.

Hmm. Maybe I'm not using it right. I don't see the green focus box like you do on the K790a for example. How do you know what you're focusing on?
Ok, I think I get it. While there's no focus square there is a camera icon that turns green and beeps when you're in focus. But it's hard to tell what you're focusing on without the square in the viewfinder.

Had it for about a month now. Once it froze and I had to restart and once it restarted automatically while I was swiching applications with the message "Phone restarting to increase performance" or something like that. Did not find any other real bugs, except the 'C' key thing.
The GUI is horribly inconsistent though. Sometimes the 'C' works, sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes you close a pop-up setting with 'x', sometimes by clicking somewhere outside the pop-up, etc. And why aren't there 2 big (easy to push with your fingers) buttons to enable/disable Bluetooth, WiFi, etc? It looks very much like UIQ was not really made for touch screen operation and they need a few good user interface designers over there.
Also, the phone is sometimes a bit slow, but not too much. However, most things like making a call, looking up a contact or writing&sending an SMS I could do faster on my previous 2 SE phones. I did not expect that.
I did find some bugs in synchronizing contacts with outlook. I have some people with (initially) only 1st names. Because the Bluetooth phone book readout of my Audi does not like that, I moved the names to only last names in Outlook 2003. Now each time I synchronize, I end up with the name in both the first and last name fields in my phone. And the birthdays keep on being double placed as events.
Other than the above annoyances, I love it.
Regards,
Onno (1st post here so be gentle
