hihihi in that time I didn't have the choice,the K850 was very expensive aka 700$ and the W910 was not supposed to be sold!
I got a used N95 for a nice price and if I sell it today I will only loose 20$ !!

I did the same thing...

Had the W850i firstly and it was a good solid phone, but then the N95 came out and I was seduced by it's feature set.

So I took out a new contract with T-Mobile to get the phone... then the reality hit me; poor battery life, software crashes, sluggish performance;

I also was not happy that Nokia had released the shit version of the phone in Europe, then 5 months later, release a new version with almost all the issues in the first sorted out;

So I decided to go back to SE and get the W910i, but at the moment the phone is a shambles; constant hanging, java and software bugs;

I'm STILL waiting for Sony Ericsson to sort out the firmware issues on both the W910i and K850i, which both use the A200 software platform.

I personally am in 2 minds whether to stick with the W910i in the hope that the firmware is sorted, or to get rid and get a N81 8GB or HTC Tytn II

My wife has the W910, and it's a nice phone. Not really comparable to the N95 - it's not a smartphone and lacks a long list of features like wifi, GPS, any pretence of being a "proper" camera etc - but at the same time it's a nicely designed phone which does music and all the basics well, and is very light and very slim (for a slider). The camera isn't so bad either - a simple 2mp affair, but it works and is capable of nice pictures - and the screen is very nice. Not having played with an "ordinary" (non-UIQ) SE phone for a while, I was impressed with the menus etc - all very pretty and easy to use.

Apart from the overall design, the standout thing for me has to be the battery life - I'd never expect it from such a small 3G phone, but it'll happily last a full week on a single charge. I can't see the N95 ever managing that! I only wish my Tytn II could..

The N95's battery is really a mess even after upgrading to V20,you can't use the brightness to 100% fearing to loose a couple of hours and with half what I was using with the K800 as average use the n95 battery last max 24h,the menu s*cks because you should also always close completely any game or soft before returning to the main menu or the battery will last 6 hours!
add to that the difficulty of making a ''nice'' theme with carbide without spending 1 week in front of your PC,the very high jpeg compression of the 5mp,the 16 millions colors LCD but that lacks life of a truebright LCD screen(SE phones),you can't decrease or increase the volume inside a game,thikness...

How about 9 months between releases not the 5 months you like to claim and it's called improving a product or does the M600 to P1 not count as the same thing.
Also in case you hadn't noticed the original N95 hasn't been abandoned re firmware upgrades either unlike all the original UIQ3 devices because the new model came out.

The original N95 has continued to get improvements via firmware and has recently got Demand Paging as found on the N95 8gb which has improved speed and battery life. It is also rumoured in the next firmware it will also get Flash Lite 3.0 just like the N95 8GB.

I didn't notice the P990, M600 or W950 getting any of the enhancements found in the P1 or W960 did they? no there support just stopped altogether as SE expected there customers to buy a new devcie instead. It's pretty obvious which set of users got good service and which set got screwed. Not of course forgetting the massive protest it took to get even one last firmware for just the P990 to fix two bugs introduced in what SE deemed to be the last needed firmware. But you are welcome to stick with SE if that's how you wish to be treated as a customer some of us how ever think differently.

You have feedom to choose.. That's the beauty of it. I switched from N95 to K850i and I didn't regret it.

@vegetaleb

Please get realistic about the battery life on a smart phone compared to a dumb phone as your expectations are unrealistic try a UIQ3 Smart phone or any smart phone and not one of them's battery will last as long as a dumb phone like the K800 and if you expect it to don't buy a smart phone. But as you say if you are only going to lose $20 sell the N95 as you obviously find it so terrible and then we can start reading your bitching about your new SE phone as you strike me as the sort of person that will never be happy irrespective of the product.

Marc, you're right of course about the battery life of smart vs. dumb phones, but it's still a bit of an eye opener sometimes. My Tytn II isn't as bad as most of the reports I've read about the N95 - I usually get at least a couple of days out of it - but it's still rubbish compared to the week long charge that something like the W910 can manage. Considering its small size, and 3G abilities, it's impressive - dumb or not!

Tomorrow I will go to a second cell shop who should have the 2 colors and who claim that he's selling the K850 for a reasonable price of 475$ so I will have all the choices in front of me,another thing is it will depend also on how much he gonna take from me the N95 because it can varies from 300 to 400$ :/

@Boinng

Of course you ae right about batteries but t doesn't apply to all my E61 with 1500AmH Li-Polymer battery would run for days on full use with no need to charge even my E90 with again a 1500aMh Li-Polymer battery can last more than day and that's with WiFi on constantly as i am using it for push E-Mail over WiFi.

@vegetaleb

Oh dear you really seem to of missed the concept that the N series and the N95 is a Multimedia Smart Phone not a business Smart Phone. If you want a business smart phone you choose a E series devcie or you buy a SU-8W Bluetooth keyboard that gives you a full qwerty with any Nokia devcie. I really think you should sell your N95 fast and take such a small loss while you can, and then you can return to a dumb phone that will obviously suit your needs far better. Good luck if your going for a K850 and i can't wait to hear how that works out for you.
