Pls don't get me wrong.
Actually, the post I made was for them who said Nokia's display is better because they are 16M colors. The truth is, they are not even better at all than SE's - even when they are 16M colors and SE is 'just' 256k colors.
So my point will be.. 16M color screen doesn't guarantee anything. The quality itselff will depend on the manufacturer itself.
But of course, I also agree with you, if SE put some 16M color screen on its display, of course without any doubt it will be better than SE's 256k color screens.. and most of all, it will be the ultimatum since SE's display is always one of the best.
I also expect one or two from SE, of course.

hi amras, that's what i thought too, look at my post above, IMO,
could easily replace their numbers in spec for 262k into 16M with ease, no hardware mod

^^^^ Agreed. But it is still something I do not consider as my purchase factor. I haven't even been thinking about it until I saw this thread. My opinion is still exactly the same as it was before I have read all the posts. Quality of screen visual expression is what counts.

once again things change: color depth become more important as size and resolution increase. X1 has a supperb size and resolution yet it apparently lacked the hardware power to pull a 24 bit screen
@jakontil and amras
i definately agree with you

As stated millions of times - it lacks the software power to do so.

I doubt your statements. Well, let us see when we will have opinions from the first hand user experience. I think it is just development of equipment itself what counts.

My apologies, I missed a couple of posts. And thats what a lot of obviously mis-informed people have been saying in the X1 thread, etc. So I naturally thought this to be the truth. Sorry mate, I should've read more carefully.

shame on SE, up until this date, they have not yet to release any phone with 16M colors. I do understand and i see their screen have been improved a lot since K750, but it is just a shame that they have not yet implement more colors on it. Nokia has been using 16M color screen since last year.
they started with it already 2 years ago...

why is everybody is complaining about the X1 65k color screen.....
did you ever see 65k color on a (((((((WVGA - 800x480 3inch))))))) display????
you will never notice color banding in that pixel-density.... never!!!
i like to save the processor power to do more things than to show 16M colors on the screen like that that makes no difference...
so stop about color-depth complaining...!!!!!!!
EDIT: you'r right kenoby.. maybe i've been alittle bit aggressive.
sorry

Ease up. Not everyone is complaining. You do need to work on your approach. Seems to me lately around here some strange aggressiveness is ruling the posts.
