Hi all,
As the last plan i quoted was Business users only i thought i should quote one for us normal folk.
Dolphin 35 18 month contract with £5 Web discount = @£30pm
BB Talk @£2.50pm and a BB Bold @£49.99
So £32.50 per month on a 18 month contract and £49.99 for the Bold seems like quite a good deal to me especially as a Sim free Bold looks like being well over £500.

Hi all,
Well as Orange really are my least favorite Network as the last time i was with them i had to threaten the Legal department with legal action to get my issues resolved.
I will not be getting anything from Orange also i am concerned about Orange only giving 250mb with their BB Mail and the risk of incurring extra charges for using more than this. As 250mb for 3 mail accounts and Web browsing really doesn't seem like a lot. Especially as using 3G/HSDPA and a better browser for full sites will mean larger data traffic IMO.
Anyway i spoke to VodaFone today and they have they Bold showing as being available from the 3rd September which luckily for me is the earliest i can upgrade my contract. So i am going to wait to see what Voda's deals are like and try a Bold in the flesh before deciding also the Thunder is going to be Voda exclusive and should arrive late October/November. I feel for me the full Touchscreen which means a much larger viewing area may be the better choice for me as when i have had Touchscreen devices always used the on screen keyboard with great success. If i don't like the Bold or Thunder i can of course just use the BB plan in my E90 only losing out on the pin messaging.

Hi all,
OK so i have now pulled the trigger as just can't see any of the other Networks getting close to the Orange pricing should have my BOLD with me by Tuesday. After going through a steep learning curve you can expect a full hands on review from the perspective of a new Blackberry user.

Hi all,
Well my Bold arrived today and so far i have to say i am loving it apart from a few little niggles. The first being that i am having a little trouble with it holding onto a 3G signal although i believe updating my firmware will solve this. The second thing that i am finding annoying is the time it takes to sync with Outlook for Calender entries. The screen on the Bold really is stunning and the Keyboard also works very well also, currently I'm in alot of pain but will do a review in a couple of days.

Hi all,
Well i have to say I'm really quite amazed at just how easy it was to upgrade the Bold to a new firmware. Not only has it improved the holding onto the 3G problem but has got rid of the Orange theme and given me the Precision Zen theme which is much better.
The other thing that really surprised me was although i didn't do anything it automatically backed and restored everything on the Bold for me even my one 3rd Party app which is MyAlarm. I know I've only had it some 14 hours odd but it really has made quite an impression on me. The screen really is great as is the Keyboard and it really is fast device to, looks like it's a keeper to me.

Hi Marc,
Glad your enjoying it!
IF you did want the Orange theme back, locate the BlackBerry.alx file for the new firmware you have just installed to your pc, open it with notepad and delete all instances of vendor id, save the file as an .alx again and next time you connect the DTM will tell you there are updates and install all vendors themes, this does take a good chunk of memory but with the Bold I don't think you have that much to be concerned about!

Hi Nanu
Yeah I'm really addicted already and i have to say it really is avery straight forward OS to use and work with. The upgrade was just so easy and gave me the option of just choosing the Languages i wanted and deleted the rest so i just choose English. I still only have two themes but i now have the Precision Zen Theme which is the nicest so far IMO.
I have to say that setting it up was just so easy and also the screen really is out of this world this is not only a fast E-Mail centric business device. But a full on Multimedia monster to my Albums in 256kbps AAC using my Shure ear phones just sounds stunning so good that it's bye bye iPod. The screen and the power of the processor and codec support means that both Music Video's and my converted TV shows look and sound stunning. It's really like having your own personal LCD TV for viewing.
The only negative point i can think of is how long it takes to sync as it verifies everything in my Outlook database but i can live with that.

Just thought you lot would like to know that the Bold is now available through the Vodafone website for Business customers. Doesnt appear to be available for private customers yet though.

Hi all,
Not only that but the Monthly charge is £2.50pm more with 100 less minutes and £104 more for the Bold than Orange charge personal customers. I'm glad i didn't wait and got mine from Orange and i never thought i would hear myself say that.
