Hi everybody, I got my P800 two sundays ago from Semicon SM Southmall. After four days I had to return it and have it replaced because after I did a master reset, the 10-second reset thing kept cropping up and I was not able to use the IR modem (it was detected but would not communicate even with a simple diagnostics). For several times, the unit would hang while I was changing the IR setting from on to off and back or changing from PC connect to modem and back.

Semicon SM was able to give me a replacement unit the day after I reported my problem.

The good thing about my new (replacement) unit is that I was able to setup and use its cable, IR, bluetooth for both synchronization and wireless modem with both my ASUS laptop and Intel desktop (with Windows XP) and since the time it was given to me, I only encountered the 10-second reset thing once (never happened again).

I have not done any master reset as of yet and dreads doing so (afraid that the 10-second reset would crop up again). I have not encountered any major problem that would make me have second thoughts about my getting a P800. In short, I am one very happy owner of a P800 and glad I delayed my first plan of getting an O2 XDA.

Right now, my P800 is setup to check my POP3 mail every 15 minutes thru myglobe and it alerts me for any kind of message I receive (SMS, MMS, and E-mail).

Let me also tell you that today (01/23/03) I observed that the GPRS connection of Globe became very stable. My P800 was connected the whole day. I could even see the globe icon with the blinking () on its side everytime it checks for my mail on the display with flip on.

The only question I have right now is: Is it really true that GPRS thru www.globe.com.ph is free (no matter how many kilobytes you send/receive) and that you only get charged if you use internet.globe.com.ph?
