Or like the older patch type unlocks ???

You can't actually patch unlock A2 phones, so yes it's permanent......
I've actually mailed Aerix team to see if they'll add A1 support, as patching isn't a great(read: permanent) solution......

just unlocked my vodafone c510 quick as, got my o2 sim in it now
just need to get on the rebranding now, add some customised drivers people seem to be throwing up, and it's sweet

I tried with my c510a and i got the error code 628294B8B19C2AA4 (when booted with 2+5) emailed them but haven't heard back yet.
Anyone else has any success with "a" phones ?!
