I think they are calculating the costs and effort of going to Mars, but this won't happen in the near future. To expensive and nothing to gain.

Let me first make clear that this is political, and not about Americans in general.
I mean that the USA wouldn't be so "great" if the rest of the world could think for them self, instead of blindly follow the biggest mouth around. Funny, when you write about a political issue, you get long sentences.
