i have had mostly candybars phone except for my s700+c905.
the reason being that the less moving parts the better.my s700 swivel is still rock solid and my c905s slider has a slight wobble but hasnt got worse.
i am going to get saito so hopefully a solid built phone.

the build of the s700 feels lovely, perfectly weighted keypress, solid slider that locks in place with a satisfying click, rock solid battery cover, very good camera cover etc etc.

i'm pretty sure that everyone will check everything up to their best knowledge before buying things but the problems doesn't arise immediately but at a later stage. this hardware/software stuff are man made and therefore are not 100% defect free and that's why we have a warranty. for what ever reasons pertaining to manufacturer's defect the manufacturer are liable, responsible and accountable of their products....anyway those are not the main issues here.

the more substantive issue is....a sub standard/defect product. no one wants a sub standard/defect product moreover if it is a premium/high end product and yet it never reach the standard of so called premium/high end expectation!!! the manufacturer has to address the issue not the consumer, and to compensate fairly the trouble faced by the consumer ie. recalling the products and replace them with an equivalent or better stuff...

Yes good points there but so so many problems with so many phones right out of the box is poor. Every manufacturer has problems but it should never be like this. You see so many phones with problems but compared how many tv sets or stereos do you see with this many problems right out the box? I don't think its acceptable

Bonovox,

haven't hanged around on A/V forums that much, so I'm not sure how valid your last point is. But I'm sure, if you had your phone in the bookcase 24/7 as your stereo (or wherever you have your stereo)rather than carrying it with you all day long the phone probably would not break that often.

Beside, the smaller things get the harder it is to make them last long I guess (a thin branch breaks easier than a thick one).
