I've read various reports on another forum - not centralized to just SE products - that the W995a (NAM model) has had wobbly slider after just 30days of use. Now take note that SE phones normally don't have such wobbly slider issues, but I don't know first had. I too am worried and that's why I chose not to get one back in July-Sept.
This W995a is a well loved phone amongst SE fans so a price drop not only helps clear out stock for
but it keeps the image of a quality handset offering great value for SE customers and most likely they'll continue their patronage in mind when they upgrade.
I STILL want the W995a just not as badly as before ... I may get one this christmas as a backup phone for sporting night life or travelling (camera alone at clubs will do it justice). WHY is it still only qvga recording? After a bump in 3MP higher than the K850i we're still stuck at qvga video recording?

I am considering rejoining SE for a short while having used my last P1 in early 2008. I have gone through two N82s and now I own an LG Arena.
I want to try the W995 (though strong comeptition from N86 at same $399.99 price) and then possibly the X10. So my question is...has Sony Ericsson incorporated any type of inbuilt security? I have a cheapo Samsung on another network and even it has security where I can lock:
1) Phonebook
2) Call log
3) Photos
etc.
Has SE made any improvement in this area? I have always longed for this on a Sony Ericsson phone, since my days of T310/K700.

I had the W995 for 4 months and the slider was perfect till towards the end. It started to wobble a bit because of a hard drop.

Oh please, let it be around for a while! I hate it how they keep bombarding us with new mobile. It is crazy impossible to keep track of the models.
