You know did anyone see Watchdog programme the other week?? They showed the so called shock, dust & water proof Motorola Defy where customers were complaining it was not. They were saying they had smashed screens(Gorilla Glass) when it fell on carpets. Which I did not believe I think people tell lies cos there is no way a screen would smash on a carpet

Heh, i like how you put a smiley after saying that, when i doubt thats the very last thing you wanted to do when it happened.

@ Bon - im sure it would smash even on a carpet covered floor if hit from a certain angle. Theres always a weak spot no matter how small our human engineers cannot find. Theres too many variables in reality.

I think the Gorilla glass is just scratch resistant not shatter proof. I remember I dropped a Nokia phone(forget which one)down a stone stair case & I watched it bounce down each step like in slow motion

The clue is in the name imo. Glass always breaks, even bulletproof glass !

SE's quality has been on the decline in years imo. The arc is no exception, you can almost bend the phone in half !

Yes,when I had the Arc I literally flexed the phone with my hand I could see it bending. Was just testing it as ya do I was horrified I guess they see it as metal construction is more expensive.

Yeah but i also think in the bid to have the most slim of all phones on the market, they keep making phones out of more bendy materials so when they are dropped, theres more give in the slim form factor.
