Nokia N8?? That ain't similar spec to Arc Hang on a minute. If Arc S is considered as an upgrade then so is the Sensation. The Sensation is dual core

The Sensation is an upgrade too point that out to them. You would be better off having insurance through a different company not Vodafone. Cos Vodafone replace phones but separate insurance companies would pay up the money instead to replace the handset

Galaxy S Plus is good but worse camera & no flash. HTC Sensation yes but again that is an upgrade which they said the Arc S would be too. So why not give you the Arc S?? I don't get that

Hi!

I suppose I do not understand well enough about dual core and the differences between

Chipset Qualcomm MSM8260 Snapdragon
CPU Dual-core 1.2 GHz Scorpion
and
Chipset Qualcomm MSM8255T Snapdragon
CPU 1.4 GHz Scorpion

Memory on Galaxy S PLus is
Card slot microSD, up to 32GB
Internal 8 GB/16GB storage (market dependent), 512 MB RAM, 2 GB ROM

whereas for Sensation it is
Card slot microSD, up to 32GB, 8 GB included
Internal 1 GB storage, 768 MB RAM

Might well ask my friend which one she likes and then go out and buy myself a sim free handset!

I'd personally go with the HTC sensation.

The extra ram is important and when it gets an upgrade to ICS the chip will come into it's own.

Only potential negative is that the battery on those isn't fantastic. Arc's is much better.

Also the design isn't as pretty as Arc, but neither are the other offerings.

It's more of an upgrade than Arc S would be.

Hi Ricky,

thanks! I have the Galaxy S Plus ordered but I will either give it to my friend or just keep it as a back up. I have been using my S-E W900i as a back up and although stylish, texts etc etc... are not so good.

I will then buy a sim free Android phone but not sure which one yet. I did use a 32 gig card in my Arc so would want a good phone, updatable to ICS and also a slot for a memory card.

So now need to research 'which phone?' or wait till the new S-E Xperia range are released.

Any suggestions?

Apparently for the Sensation there is an extended battery which does not require bigger cover. It's made by Anker and is 1,900mAh and there are many excellent reviews on it.
