which LTE bands will TMO use?
"T-Mobile is accomplishing this by re-farming its spectrum, a project it has been working on since early 2012. The company has historically operated GSM/EDGE service in the 1900MHz band. It offers HSPA+ in the 1700MHz AWS band. T-Mobile has been systematically replacing the GSM/EDGE service with GSM/HSPA+ in the 1900MHz band, which makes room in its 1700MHz spectrum for LTE. It has been moving its HSPA+ service to the 1900MHz band all year and already has several dozen markets ready for LTE."

1700MHz is Band 4 same as AT&T. ZL will support T-Mobile and AT&T LTE bands while Z will not.

Does ATT LTE work with just 1700 Band alone or would you need the Band 17 at 700mhz as well to work?

Some markets might use band 4 1700/2100MHz and some might use band 17 700MHz.
Band 4 uses 1700MHz and 2100MHz.
It all depends on what band is used in the area you live at. Nationally AT&T uses both bands.

Why in this day and age do we care about IRDA (Infrared) technology?! Its like VGA still being added to PC's ... makes no sense to continue with this horrible standard YET we keep having it on products so it never dies ... adding bulk and almost outdated if not confirmed already outdated technology.

He means IR Blaster
And as close as I seen it in action is someone showing the Remote app. That's pretty much it, doesnt seem like they showed it off at all compared to the Z's IP rating.

What? Horrible standard? It's still being used in practically all TV's for what, 40 years now? They never managed to invent anything better than that, I'd say it's a genius technology to last so long...

Especially as we have learnt it doesn't use Dragontrail glass but "equivalent". To me, this is a real show-stopper. So, ZL for me as well.

Z and ZL are using Dragintrail glass but Sony does not disclose who the suppliers.
