Just out of curiosity what happens when you use night vision in the day?
I have just taken a photo of a P800 using a sony camera in Nightshot mode. If I were brighter I would post the picture.
What you end up with is a green-scale picture, green on black
but with lots of contrast i.e. lots of shades of green
so a clear picture which just appears to have been washed
in one colour.

Yeah!LG UC35 usb pc camera has also a night pictures ability! It uses green filter but the pictures are much better with that function on at night. I use it for my cars security. I think that P800 can have this ability too-IMO its software dependant. Regards! Peter

Hi Mr Hamilton,
W have a very limited number of P800 in stock tomorrow of which you are to be allocated one, the order will go on a next day but it will depend on when they arrive from the freight forwarders as to weather we can despatch tomorrow. If we are unable to then it will go Wednesday on a next day delivery to Northern Ireland.
The Uk P800 is slightly different stock, you are correct in saying that the camera id different, it will have a Zoom function and will have a night vision function as well, the memory is the same as the specified spec.
Regards
Adam Marsh
Sony Ericsson Eshop Manager UK & Ireland
1. I'm sure he wouldn't start with 'Hi'
2. Doesn't say 'Thanks for contacting...'
3. 'Weather' spelt wrong
4. No contact details at the bottom
@dave2qj nice try
Look you twat, on My-Symbian.com it has all been established that even if the data isn't correct, which in all likelyhood it isn't it isn't my fault.
It IS the nice manager of EShop, I provided full contents of both mine and Marsh's email correspondance with all the details below I decided to leave out. He's only human and email is a fairly informal way of communication, you must be fairly new to the internet if you haven't caught on to this fact yet.
And why would he not say "Hi"? We are 2 adults and conversing by email.. when you go into a shop does the manager get down on one knee and speak to you? WTF are you on about??!
And as for number 2. of your "managerial contact rules" it was my third email to him in a week.
See
http://my-symbian.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3249&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=30 for the stuff On My-Symbion I refered to.
I hope you aren't representative of the users on Esato you know-nothing smartarse.

And you guys sure know how to make someone feel welcome by calling new members liars when they post something they feel may be of some interest to others . Don't worry, I won't stick around in your elite little forum for long.

Jesus this is getting silly...
I agree with Dave.. for some random person to dispute the email because he didn't put "hi" at the bottom really turns this into a sh*te thread.
Weeks before this was mentioned, I knew that to be the name of the manager at the eshop (through my dealings with them) and I think the email looks geniune, even if maybe misguided.
As the things are arriving today, can't we just ignore this childish squabble and just see?
Im actually stunned at how pathetic that post was... Proves how many kids are getting their hands on P800s

Maybe this will help...
http://www.mobil.se/nyheter/visa.asp?id=6355&sid=1
It's in Swedish, according to a member of the french forum "P800.fr.st",
(vad78) which translate it :
A new firmware will be available during april and it will change the following : Improving the software for better pictures, improving bluetooth connection and a new version of UIQ.
And a cherry on the cake : Possibility to make ourselves the upgrade...
Hope this will calm down everybody

stick around dave2qj
I got this newsletter from my-symbian today and it mentions your e-mail
Rumours have also been spreading regarding a possible camera upgrade for the Sony Ericsson P800, which are said to include a Digital Zoom and a 'Night Mode' much like the feature on the Nokia 7650. An email said to be from the Manager of the Sony Eshop UK states that they should be getting the new and improved units in any day now, but another email from a Customer Service person tell differently. Smells a bit like vapourware to me, although it would be a brilliant add on, but there is always that question in the back of my mind.Another world exclusive in an everyday email to a customer, I doubt it.
A slightly nicer response to your post
People (who responded in an unpleasant way to your post) have probably already bought and paid a lot for the P800 and cant stand the idea of the phone being 'better' now, they are just kids (probably still at school)
Dont let them wind you up
