Yup - I work for Orange - my user name kinda gives that away

Right, every-one stop here.

Orange do know which IMEI is registered on you account - if it is lost stolen etc they know which IMEI to bar. If it is damaged or faulty they know which IMEI to expect returned back - DO NOT send any handset back of the same model or you will be charged for the replacement. You must send back the IMEI you are registered with...or this causes big headaches for all

You can have your sim or another sim in yours/a different handset & still be covered by care - sim swapping DOES NOT invalidate care - Only if your claim falls outside of these terms you will be refused/charged for a replacement - check them in the back of your handset manual.

Orange can also see when you have sim swapped - this usually shows the IMEI number. It will also show the make or model, if the handset originated from an Orange package (ie Pay as You Go or contract)
Sim free or unlocked handset from other networks only show IMEI number.

They could see all orange customers who have used IMEI: 3501112233445566, for example - They have it all covered - believe me.

##High Speed Plan DOES NOT have free care for P800 - sorry guys I was wrong on that one - you do have to pay for it sepertly - but only £5 a month is pretty cheap considering##

well thank you very much for the info orangeman...So everyone on the HSD plan (personal) should consider the 5 extra pounds for care...then that would make it 15 pounds a month....still not bad at all if you ask me

@dazbradbury - if you unlock ur handset while in contract then the money sits as a credit on your account - so any future invoices are deducted from this - any balance left after you terminate, can be refunded back to you via cheque
