Azary, i ll tell you what is wrong with the fone that my friend digital forgot to mention...this phone is very fragile, well maybe it is not, but when u hold it, the only thing u have in ur mind is, "i hope i wont drop it" i have chatted with digital many time, and every day we talk, i or he tells me that i almost dropped it or soemthing like that...
To tell you the truth it is a woooow phone, and i really treat it exactly the same way when i hold my nephew....with a lot of care...u know when u are holding a little 5 months old baby, the only thing u have in mind is i hope i wont drop it...so this is how it feels like when u have a P800 in ur hands. as digital told u the size is way smaller that i expected too. bt it is still kinda big, well ANY PHONE is big when u are used to a t68i. well if u need more info, post ur questions here, and we ll answer you...

Thanks for the input. I understand completely. I had dropped a T68i that I used to own, and I just about had a heart attack, so I do understand. (This also serves as an example of how important it is to find a good case that isn't flimsy and cheap, which was half of the contributing factor of why I dropped it in the first place - I'm still waiting for the Vaja cases to arrive for the P800 (www.vajacases.com), but I digress...).

I'm sure the phone would be fantastic to have. I guess the main thing for me is wondering just how fast you'd chew up bytes surfing the internet and emailing and so on. I'd think that would get really expensive really quick. I just wish that T-Mobile would come out with a reasonably priced unlimited data plan. Then for a flat fee, you wouldn't have to worry about really making use of the phone. It seems the P800 would be a bit pointless or overkill if you couldn't utilize all of its data capabilities because GPRS was just too expensive. That would be a bit of a shame, IMO.

Not to mention, I sometimes wish that the P800 had some hardware buttons beneath its screen - like send/end buttons and a rocker panel or a five-way T68i-type joystick. I think that would make the phone even more useful.

So I feel a bit uneasy buying it just yet with those two things (GPRS cost, and lack of hardware buttons apart from the flip) always on my mind. For that money, I want to make a wise purchase. Everything else seems great. As a technophile, normally I don't let the idea of "what's just around the corner" bother me, but in this case, for some reason, it does. I don't want to buy it just to find out that what I really want comes out two or three months later. I want to know that I could get some really good use out of it for a while, but of course, this is what we all wrestle with, yes? This is technology. Like I've said before, I really need to see this phone in person, but until it arrives (few weeks, give or take), I'll just have to be patient.

This phone is simply awsome! I love it. Its smaller then I expected. Plus you can see the screen just fine in sunlight. You won't be disappointed. And really its great on not using alot of bytes via GPRS. I have service on t-mobile and I just went for their 10MB t-zone add on for an extra 9.99 a month. It should work out great. If you get it you won't regret it. This message was posted from a P800

azary,
Yes i hear u, i dont want to have a fone that could be so easily replaced.but as u said, we are phone freaks...and believe me, when i got the t68i , i said no more fones, then the p800 came, and i was like i would get the p then nomore fone, well guess what , i have had the p for 3 weeks now, and i want the t610 badly and it doesnt even have the features of the p800, so i guess i am just gonna stay away from phone websites, and stop looking at other fones for a bit....damn did u see the new phone from siemens, i want it tooooooooooo....daqmn i am going nuts with the tech.

it's only 10 dollars a month for 10 megs a month! on Tmobile? i don't see anything about that on their website wtf?
i pay 13 bucks a month for 4 megs with att. should i switch?

att is the best in norcal area tho as far as coverage. although gsm coverage SUCKS SO BAD HERE i can barely go inside a building without getting no service.

should i wait for att to build up their network or switch over?

I'd switch, I think its not an advertised add on plan or something. The data support guy I talked to claimed I couldn't view html pages with the phone with the t-zones add on. I said 10 bucks says I can. He wanted to argue with me so I was like oh well. Anyway it works fine. I'll probably not use all the 10MB a month, since I get free nights and weekends I'll use CSD then. But it should work out fine for me. If I were you and at&t wouldn't match the plan, which I'm sure the won't. I'd switch. Just my opinion though.

travelling forth between US and Israel makes me understand how really shitty the US cell billing system is, not only do you have to pay for incoming calls which is unheard of elsewhere in the world but these INSANE prices for internet !!! In Israel you get 100 !!!!! megabytes for 50 NIS = $10 a month, how are you suppose to use GPRS with your laptop when all you get is a measly 4-10 mb that's CRAZY !!!!

Well some of us live in the U.S. and are forced to pay unfair prices for GPRS. But T-mobile, I think, has the best plans for GPRS. Thats a plus for me since thats the only GSM carrier in my area. And they have decent coverage. Like I said, some of us have no choice.
