Please stop the mindless Nokia bashing. The people who compare the 6600 with the T610 obviously haven't got a clue what they're talking about. They are completely different classes, the 6600 runs a real operating system and the T610 is merely a spiced up cellphone. I do love my P800 but this phone looks like it has it all. To tell you the truth, after a while you get kinda tired of the handwriting input on the P800. That is its biggest weakness, no doubt about that. It's slow and it's difficult to input text when you're not sitting down in a relaxed environment.
I really doubt that SE will be able to make a product that will be able to compete directly with the 6600 since they won't use the Series 60 interface. They could of course make another alternative UI for Symbian OS, but application support would probably be very weak. As it has been said, the P800 is not in direct competition with the 6600 as it's a PDA.
If it's reasonably priced I wouldn't mind buying it when it comes out. I like the Siemens SX1 too, but seriously, life is too short for that kind of stupid keypads.

a mini review of the 6600 here; http://asia.cnet.com/reviews/handphones/0,39001713,39014700p,00.htm
Less conventional is the other new Nokia--the 6600 with its oval outline and sizeable girth. This handset weighs some 122g and measures 58.2mm across. The major technical improvement in the 6600 is its long-overdue 65,000-color active-matrix display.

When we tried out a pre-production unit, we found the screen an excellent electronic viewfinder. Unlike previous Nokia camera-phones, the response time of the 6600 is fast enough to keep up with sharp movements, even under low-light conditions. To top it off, the video-capable 6600 even comes with a 2x digital zoom, plus a new technology called "Synchronized Multimedia Integration Language (SMIL)". This last innovation allows users to compose messages with text, sound and images in sequence. ANOTHER LOW TECH INNOVATION BY NOKIA.

Other notable features include the handset's 6MB internal memory, Bluetooth support, as well as streaming video and audio capabilities. Like the 7650 and 3650, the 6600 uses Series 60, Nokia's implementation of the Symbian OS.

I'm wondering a little;
that SMIL-technology Nokia is boasting of; isn't that pretty much like MMS? In that case isn't this SMIL anything new. Ok, might be new with complete MMS-support for Nokia, but not to SE and Siemens.

Could it mean that you can "record" an MMS with sound and pictures simultaneously..? If that's not it then it's exactly the same as MMS on the Sony Ericsson phones.

SMIL is used as a presentation language in MMS. Ie. you can send an MMS message with different transtions effects, timings, background colors/images and so on.

SMIL is hardly new and it's not a Nokia innovation. SMIL is a W3C standard and was written in 1998.

SMIL is already partially supported on the SE phones, but SMIL also lets you do things like, say, show an image and play an audio clip, and when the audio clip finishes playing, go on to the next image and the next audio clip; without having to manually set how long to display each image.
