The electro in electroplating stands for electric.
How do you pass electric through plastic?

You dont paint it chrome you have it electroplated, you will have to look for a company that does electroplating. I think it would look alright
Ha Ha ha ha!! You can't "electroplate" plastic,... dumb***! That only works on metals. Considering it requires you to send a "current" through it. And it's so damn expensive and difficult to find a place to even do it, it just isn't worth it.
I have only seen ONE company that can "chrome" plastic, glass and etc..., but they are waaay out of anyones leage to get something done. Considering they are only hired for movies at this time. Not sure how it's done, but I know for a fact it isn't done via electroplating, lol. Maybe a really high quality painting process or something.
I say just try finding some chrome paint and try it out. But I would paint the grey plastic black if you go that route. Or vise versa.

Many People think it’s impossible to chrome plastic, it is not. The process of chrome plating over plastic is actually a process called vacuum metalizing and it is different than electroplating or chrome plating.
