So, basically, it's the same old SE crap. Wait for announce. Lots of cool promises, but nothing actually available at announce (can't even pre-order from SE). Now start waiting with no solid commitment on anything.

I swear, SE is their own worst enemy. I would so rather be using a Palm based device at this point. Were it not for the fact that there is (currently) no Palm device that offers the same feature set as the P800/P900 I would have written off SE by now. The day I can get a Palm phone with Bluetooth & high res screen, I'm outta here.

I can't think of another product that has been mismanaged more than the P800. As we all know, it is one of the coolest devices ever. But SE has done more to make sure it is never as hugely popular as it should be, through constant delays, missed expectations, poor software updates, etc., than any of their competitors. In the US, you still can't walk into ANY of the major cell carrier stores and see a P800. Most people over here have still not even seen one, and by the time the P900 is avaialble (assuming it makes it in stores) it will have been a year and a half since the P800 came out, and lots of competitors will have phones avaialble with feature sets encroaching on the P800/P900.

Sorry. </rant>

Firmware upgrades can't be done over Bluetooth afaik, because the Bluetooth connection is controlled by the firmware. This message was posted from a T300

erm.. macgyver (nice nick)..... erm.... exactly how many products do you know were available world wide the same day they were announced and shown to the public the first time?

Production doesn't work that way.

As for it being available in USA.... part fo the blame goes to US carriers and USA legislation as well.

Yeah T-mobile in the U.S. is horrible about that. Finally they got the T68i a year or so after it was released. But sometimes they get stuff before everyone else. Not very likely anyway. Oh and their prices on phones is outragesous too. They would just hate to give something away like t-mobile in the uk. Plus you have to sign a contract regardless.

I've mailed to se Turkey about this upgrade stuff (when it will be available, which cable model will be needed, etc.) and I will post the answers as soon as I get them. By the way, I am surprised by the stuff they know about the 600, 200, car-100 and even p900!!! This message was posted from a T610

Actually, there is a way.. I have a Parrot bluetooth car kit. They let u upgrade the kit via BT (to keep u from hacving to remove the kit from the car everytime for an upgrade).. BUT... U need a kit which is already upgraded to the newer firmware version, then u bridge the two kits via bt thru a laptop..etc etc... Its really for service centers then home users... but.. it is possible to upgrade via bluetooth.

It is actually possible another way as well.
You establish connection to the device over BlueTooth
The new firmware is saved in memory
Device restarts and upgrades firmware from memory.
