Yes, but the T630 is hardly SE's new top of the line phone for next year, it's just an evolution of the T610. You better wait until the new SE phones are announced before comparing.
T630 is top of the line phone in it's category from SE right NOW and 6230 is top of the line phone in the same category from Nokia right NOW. Next year both of the companies will announce new models to be compared, but until then we can only compare the phones that are announced. Yes, I know. It's pretty hard for die-hard SE fan to accept the fact that 6230 has better specs in overall than T630. There's no room for speculations in here, just take the spec sheets and compare the raw facts.

Yes, but with the difference that the Nokia is new product while the T630 is basically just a small improvement over the T610. It's hardly gonna be SE's top of the line phone for next year. Yes the 6230 specs are pretty impressive. But we haven't seen more than the T630 announce by SE for the next year. They are most likely gonna announce some more.
And as we've seen this year. SE has learned from their previous mistakes of announcing phones long before they'll be aviailable. SE are now annoncing phones that are available very soon after first announcement.
Although I might switch to 3G when the Z1010 is available.

And 6230 is successor for 6220 with improvements. And do you really think Nokia won't announce any new phones to be sold next year? I'm pretty sure they will. As I said, this is the situation NOW and lets look at the situation again next year when both of vendors will announce new models.

Yes.. but my point is that when the Nokia 6230 is actually available it'll not compete with the T630 but with another SE phone. It's still several months before the 6230 will be available. Actually it could be as much as 5 months before it's in stores (Q1 2004).
People around here always compares phones that aren't available. It's no point in compairing phones that will not be available in several months since this is a fast moving market, and it changes very fast. Compare the phones that are available in shops.. not the announced ones.
Look at the SX1 for example... it has been announced for a long time and is still not available, and while it seemed pretty good when it was announced it doesn't seem as good today.

Sure, 6230 seems better than T610/T630 on paper and perhaps Moto V600 will be better than Nokia 6230. But that is how the story goes. SE had the best phone(s) up till now and tomorrow some other manufacturer has an even better phone and the day after
tomorrow SE presents ... etc.
However, T630 is not the last phone SE will ever make and the link below is a proof of that since SE mainly base their phones on Ericsson Mobile platforms. It gives a little guidance what can be expected during 2004 and forward.
What about:
- Quad band phones (ala V600).
- Trimode phones (GSM-EDGE-WCDMS).
- Memory Stick and strange enough, MMC as well.
and so on.

but haven't you been "going to buy" something or other for quite a few months now? and by mar 2004 there will be something else that is coming in a few months that you will probably want.
I'd say get yourself a T610 now as there is not much diff between that and T630... and the point there is that you can get it NOW!
