LOL.....Gandalf in mobile9 wrote : "I asked Philips customer support : the registered version offers the same features as the trial. Difference between the 2 versions is that the trial expires after 7 days.
Regarding unlimited recording and pro quality, it is not mentioned in the product description on Handango (unlike what Philips sells for Nokia's phones, maybe the pro edition will come later in 2004?).".....
yeap...okey

....next time I ain't gonna buy the Pro...I'll just wait for a keygen to come out.....

Those bloody wankers! I'd never buy this shit if they hadn't fooled me by having the unlimited and pro quality options there to fool us into thinking they would work after buying it! I will certainly not buy anything from philips anymore!

Phillips are either realllllllly Smart. Or extremely stupid.
This was one of the worst mistakes ever, but maybe they did this so that wrong keygens will circulate and will never be corrected then they can correct it and sell on the site, while "free-riders" get the bad keygen.
But theyre not that smart.

think about this:
sony forced philips to limit the functionality of the video recording app to give the p900 a continuing advantage...
it's too bad there is no good cracker here who could remove the recording-length limit. by the way - what happened to w w w. unseku re . com . br ?!?

The 7 days passed! Now I can't use the tria version.Make me understand something:pro quality and unlimited time are available only for Nokia, even if I'd like to buy this software?Who the f... is Nokia???
That was the first question! The second:sony forced philips with these limitations just to make p900 more powerfull than p800.Now:who the f... is sony if they did that?By the way:they forced us to buy memory stick duo for p800/p900.Then I'll have to say that I'm mad with you sony, becouse on the top of my P800 I see "Sony" Ericsson.

My friend :
Answer no.1 : It is a worldwide opinion (I believe...) that NOKIA shows better understanding and care for their customers than S.E. Nokia might not have the BEST OF THE BEST but they still care.....S.E. doesn't do that...they don't give a s h i t about their customers.....
Answer no.2 : In my opinion they shouldn't have done that....it's a free market, Philips had the right to do it and leave it up to the buyers...

IMO, I believe that Sony was a necessary evil to save Ericsson from financial problems. Ericsson still had (and actually still does) the best products out there. Main problem, sales & marketing. It's a problem that plagues most excellent European brands & companies. They rely too much on the quality of their product (which is usually good) that they feel they don't need to market the product or offer after sales service.
Ericsson was an excellent company as far as products & approachability was concerned. I used to email them a lot back then, and they always replied promptly... even the heads of departments... very friendly. Now with SE... all you get are CS staff or some computer generated response.
Ericsson suffered the same fate as Rolls Royce, Jaguar, Land Rover, Bugatti & Lamborghini. Too elite... too subtle... too expensive (back then anyway)
Meanwhile, Nokia went the route of Fiat & VW. Up front...in your face... and cheap (Well, not the overpriced 'high-end' phones they sell)
I currently see just a few problems with SE and how they are handling things...
1) Too much control... they, SONY specifically, want too much control over what the end user does with their product... this is total BS. It's my Goddamn phone... I'll wear it as a hat if I want to! I don't want to be told what I can and can't do just cuz it's illegal in some remote location in God-knows-where. The P800/900 is a perfect platform to do this... if they just open up the system. It took them forever to release the camera API and when they did, it didn't include the video section. Now that the video recording of the P800 is possible, it's no longer such a hot item...and even at that... recording is restricted... what kind of BS is that?!?!? And please, if they're gonna force us to use that stupid MS Duo, at least release larger sizes BEFORE the phone comes out!?!?! DUH?!?!?
2) Too slow... this trait is from Ericsson (sorry Ericsson, but you guys know this is true) ... old-school business. Too slow to respond to a global market, to an internet market. As much as I admire old-school business people... they need to move faster and decide faster.
3) Low-end units REALLY FEEL LIKE LOW-END UNITS. The T100, 200 and 300 are a far cry from the T610/630 and P800/900 units. And we high-end owners may feel better, this isn't a good strategy in a global market unless you just want to cater to us tech-geeks with deep pockets (that's a small market)
They need better low-end units... at this point in time, I feel the lowest end SE unit should be the T610 or something with similar features, at least screen, camera & ringtone-wise...then sell it really cheap. The reason Nokia can now sell decent color screens on low-end units is cuz they order it in bulk and just average out the cost/profit ratio across their entire line-up (which is why the new Nokia phones still sport similar screens to the older models)
SE's low-end line-up should be a cut above the rest. No more B&W screens...no more monophonic tones... and this should be done NOW. Before the rest of the pack catches up.
