I'll be visiting SG during the second half of May and would like advice on the best carrier to use with my SE T68 while I'm in SG. In addition to GSM, I'd also like to send/receive text messages. Right now, I'm "leaning" toward Singtel because they have a 24-hour location at Changi Airport.
Also, IF I have any problems with my phone while I'm in SG, WHERE do I go to get service from SE?

Would I be able to take my T68 to SE service centre in SG to get it converted to T68i?

Well tomho, the Sony Ericsson Service Centre address in Singapore is as follow:-
50, Kallang Pudding Road
Golden Wheel Industrial Bldg
#05-02A
Tel: 67440733,67497177,67494457
or
1 Goldhill Plaza (Podium Block)
#01-33 (off Newton Road)
Singapore 308399
Tel:63520200
I would recommend you to go to Kallang Pudding Road SC, their equipment set up are more complete and the Customer Service people there are more informative. If small problems they can do it while you are waiting.

I just need to know if it still works fine if I use that battery with the T68i. Because I am in real need of one original one.

yo tomho, i would suggest using singtel as a provider cuz i would think they have the best coverage in singapore, next choice would be M1.. but the 24hr office at the airport is definitely going to make it much easier for you.
their stored value cards are called HI!cards and you should have no problem with sms and IDD calls..
how long are you staying for?

I guess that I'll be "in the market" for a new T68i while in SG because I think that my phone is "locked" to AT&T Wireless so Singtel warned me that I might not be able to use it in SG! Any suggestions on where to buy an "UNlocked" T68i in SG?

i think all phones that are sold here are unlocked so no need to worry. you can buy at any phone shops you can find here. you can also buy from singtel and m1 but i think theirs will be more expensive.
