Hi! I read an article saying that IBM will deliver the processor for both PS3 and X-BOX2, and that it will be a PPC. It also said that ATI will deliver the graphic card for X-BOX. So I guess they will have simular hardware performence.

hmm. i recon one company will utelise the hardware to its full potential with graphicsd (cough*XBOX*cough) but the other will concentrate on the games aspect...

they didnt appeal to me either, played BG1 and loved it, (dont normally like platform games either, prefer car games, and flight games) but then played pop sands of time and now i'm hooked! just down loaded BG 2 onto xbox, and cant wait ot have a session on it with m8! but having 27 games, and not having to find space to put all the cases is another advantage!

i work shifts, so get a lot of days off, so i complete and get bored of them to quickly.... thats when im not in the pub!
and the good thing also, is that i dont need to find space for dvd cases either there all on my pc, then when i want to watch one just upload and watch! its gonna take a lot to get me to give up my xbox, i think when i get ps2 il prob still mainly use xbox, unless it offers same facilities +more!

As both platforms will be using simular hardware we will probably be seeing better games as the developers wont need to compromise that much when developing a game running on more than one platform. I wonder how well these new machines will handle the "old" games, some sort of emulator will be needed as they run on a different hardware setup than todays machines.

They could just join forces get 100% of the market, and come out with some unbelievable consoles, with no risk of competition! makes sense to me, no1 would even consider attempting to create another console!

Oh, forgot to mention emulators for the Xbox.
I currently have:
Mame, Gameboy advance, Snes and Megadrive emulators on my Xbox and all run at a very high standard.
I’m becoming to sound like a Xbox fanboy :S
I also have a PS2 but that only for games that are not available for Xbox ie, Man hunt, Gran turismo etc.
As for Baldurs Gates 2, I really rate that game. It is so linear and has been very dumbed down for the console. Go get StarWars KOTOR best game of last year, if not ever.
