thanks for that - good point.
I'm definitely interested in the bluk-buy idea if the cards are the newer type pros, rather than the standard ones. Anyone know if the new types are any faster at transferring over the cable connection - which as well all know is dire!
Cheers,
MK

I have e-mailed suppliers regarding the new duo's. I will e-mail this afternoon quoting numbers from people who expressed an intrest here. Then I will let you know the price offered.

I recieved a reply today from digifocus:

Dear MonkeyCowboy,
Is 15 of these to a single location? We can cut down on delivery charges if so. But for separate addresses, we are unable to do so as we are on a very tight cost-selling price for this product.
Best regards

DigiFocus

The feeback I'm getting is similar to above (I have also contacted the same supplier).

The cheapest I'm getting is as quoted above. Then add on the postage and you are looking at about £41-43 per stick. not much saving.
I have found out from somebody who works at a Sony centre that they get them at just under £40.

regarding my earlier posting about the higher speed MS Duo's. There only seems to be 2x speed increase (actually a little under 2x) in writing and a small increase in reading using my SanDisk 8-in-1 reader (also MS Duo to MS adapter).
I have now tested transfering from my desktop PC to the higher speed MS Duo via the SanDisk 8-in-1 USB reader/writer, with the above results. So, I am assuming the benefits are going to be determined by your USB reader/writer, and it looks like the SanDisk 8-in-1 does not support the parallel transfer needed for the higher speeds (I am hoping that this is not true and that I have missed something).
So, it seems it might be better to go for the normal speed Duo's if you can get them significantly cheaper than £50 (including VAT & delivery, which is what I paid for the higher speed Duo's).

Ok, well we buy them from distribution at £38 each, but that's plus VAT and delivery. No way I can match any of these prices I'm afraid!
Why not look for third party sticks?

I would advise you buy from here
http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=52509 as I couldn't the Sony sticks anywhere cheaper as part of a group buy.
