@drow

I'm kinda new to all this filesharing stuff. Just got my broadband up and running a few weeks ago, and I'm currently using Kazaa(I know not very good). The thing is I don't have much space on my HD for sharing(my laptop only has 6 G) so Direct connect is out of the question and I just cannot figure out how to register on that edonkey thing, so maybe you, or some other cind soul out there, could give me a few pointers?

Cheers

I for one LOVE kazaa.. just get the partial install so that you don't get all the spyware.

6Gb ? Hmm.. didn't think there was any disks that small left in the world..

@Cap

Yeah I know, really need to get that upgraded!
The bad thing about Kazaa I think is that it really slows down your system.

@ Raven

You don't have to register with ed2k to use it at all. Download the client at www.edonkey2000.com and install it. Just remember to get a serverlist to update your current one. A really good one is accessed through www.sharereactor.com.

Log on to a server and search through (and download) serveral terrabyte of NON-virus infected and non-fake files. Enjoy (I know I am )

... But since you're familiar with kazaa, you might wanna try out Overnet instead. I allows access to the same shared files as ed2k does, but is using a serverless network (exactly like kazaa). If you're new to ed2k it may be a tad hard to get everyting up and running.

The overnet client is located at www.overnet.com

Thanks for the info Drow! Just tried to install Overnet, but couldn't get that to work either... Seems like the only filesharing program I'm able to run is Kazaa...

Kazaa is by far the easiest and in my personal opinion the best for getting mainstream movies, music and software (don't go there for any rare stuff... not very likely you'll find it). But damn do we hate spyware (well I do anyways). Guess what!!!! Now there is Kazaa without spyware!! http://www.kazaalite.com enjoy!!
